The last time there was this much controversy about a vote in which I was one of the candidates I was in the third grade and we were voting on who got to keep the classroom white rat “Willie” for the Summer.

(The vote split along party lines: there were more girls in the class than boys, so Laura Ashton won. She and I were the only students whose parents gave the OK to keep a rat for the Summer.)

Sounds like it’s just trolling. S2000 is our new JDV, and he should be on the board. Hell, the title may even give him some extra weight to throw around at Schweser and get Olinto responding to posts.

My hope for any new board member is that they convince Chad to send me my tshirt that I’ve requested three times.

Even though I’m still bitter about him beating me in the coin flip competition a couple years ago, I think numi would be a good boardmember.

Isn’t funny that the objection of using AF for commercial status applies to both Numi and S2000? At any rate, I think adding both of them would be a good idea. You did say possibly two. Hopefully the powers at be realize S200’s contributions to the broader forum and Numi’s BSD status.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s kind of rude that Chad delegates the majority of the moderating role to bchad and Swan when he was around. From the outside it seems like bchad’s genuine intentions of helping out the younger guys trying to establish themselves are conveniently used to avoid the responsibilities of an involved site owner. Bchad for instance mentioned a couple of years back that he’d like to write a book about the stuff the younger guys would find very helpful before or during their first years in the industry (hope that kind of effort materializes some day for benefit of the new guys). It would be nice to see a more balanced workload and commitment between AF ownership and other board members.

i dpn’t think I’ve delegated the majority of the moderating. The boardmember role was created to give the community a voice in issues that impact the AF community. The purpose of the role is not to moderate the forums. If boardmembers want to help moderate the forums, their help is welcomed and appreciated but not required.

I dont think its a problem that S2000 works for a sponsor, I’d just be worried that my other sponsors dont think its fair and they all want a moderator here too though.

But anyways, I cut my hand slicing a bagel this morning… its sucks. Why doesnt trader joes pre-slice these damn things! Thinking about putting my hand in a condom as a giant finger cot since I dont have any bandaids.

OK as of Friday at noon, there have been

24 names mentioned

1 nomination accepted

4 nominations declined

1 nomination conditionally accepted (but condition not met)

1 self-nomination (JOE2010) not yet seconded

Those who want to accept nomination need to do that within the next day. So far it is just itera in the running. (Personally, I think would be a conscientious board member and moderator, but that’s no reason not to have some competition here)

The following table is my list of who has been nominated, who has accepted/declined nomination, and who has yet to accept or decline.

Names parentheses indicate who was the first to nominate them (mygos gets two nominators because greenman’s sounded tentative). If mygos’s post number is close to the requirement and there is enough support, we can consider mygos.

Each time I saw the name mentioned in the thread, I added a 1 to indicate at least one additional supporter. People had no limit on the number of candidates they could support so far, so the numbers are not fully comparable. I also started that counting system midway through the process of recording and came back to the beginning afterwards, so there is a small chance of some double counting (no time to go back to the start right now).

Ramos4rm nominated the most people, followed by Greenman. There is no prize for this achievement, but it was interesting to note.
