I think it was actually offensive PI. Either way, bad call. Unfortunately, after Charles got hurt there was no way we were going to win that game. None of the players looked like they even wanted to be on the field. Pussies.
I believe this is the 4th year in a row that my 1st round fantasy pick has been placed on IR and second time that it has been Jamaal Charles. Sorry Sweep, I’m worse than Madden.
Was talking to a classic jersey cowboys fan, and he was talking about how they were “americas team” saying he only liked them because when he was like 12 and they were the first team to have cheerleaders. I deduced that they were the team of pervs.
But seriously living in Philly & NYC my whole life it seems that cowboys fans seem to fit a VERY specific mold which I find interesting.
If there was any doubt, basically all of Greg Hardy’s comments the week leading up to the Patriots game cemented it. Oh no wait, they were cemented when Jerry Jones backed them up. Hahaha what a franchise.
In order to be fair, the Cowboys are my hometown team. I grew up about 150 miles from Irving/Dallas/Arlington, wherever they’re from. The closest team other than them was the Oilers, at about 350 miles away.
I"m also in the Philly/NYC area and the Cowboy fans I know are either in their mid-to-late 40’s, or mid-to-late 20’s. Both groups are Cowboy fans because the Cowboys were really good when those guys first got into watching football. By the same token, there are a lot of guys in their 30’s around here who are 49’ers fans and a lot of teens who are Pats fans.
^^^ Also that original group of cowboys fans kids in the 20’s range.
Green, I respect Cowboys fans that live or are from the area. Fans that root for a winner I have no respect for. I used to give the Steelers a lot of shit (as I went to school in the boonies of PA, and their fans are rather obnoxious and all over the country) but most of their non-local fans are from families that scattered around the country when the iron/coal businesses went under.
Thanks god in the Philly area I dont think I encountered 1 pats fan, but also, i dont hang out with many teens (sadly) but in NYC they are mostly Boston transplants so I have no issues with them.
I honestly can’t even fathom a world in which that would be possible. In my lifetime all the teams I root for Phillies/Flyers/Eagles/Sixers/Penn State have won a combined 1 championship (2008 World Series) so I have no clue.
I assume success can go to a fans head for sure (i.e. Pats/Cowboys/Steelers/Yankees). Although it is a small vocal minority of all fans that are the most annoying, the majority just want to hang out. drink some beer, and see a good game.
I live in Boston where there have been 9 championships won since 2001.
If you want to have a brain aneurysm, I encourage you to stream one of the two main local sports stations here at any point during the day. Wait for them to open the phone lines. Then proceed to die.
Hearing a bunch of NE fans calling in on talk radio would make me want to put a bullet in my head. Although that could basically be said for sports talk radio anywhere in the country. I think the producers of those shows must have an absolute blast finding the weirdest people possible to put on air.
My dad listens to it and I honestly don’t know how! Any time I am home and riding with him, I just have no clue what value he gets out of it. Id much rather listen to music instead, but thats just me.
I’m a Spurs fan. (Along with Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Texas Longhorns, Manchester United, and I have zero interest in hockey.)
I can’t think of a better franchise in any of the major sports since 1995. None that has been consistently good for that long. Patriots come close, though.
