Cant believe the giants almost beat the panthers. What a game

I didn’t watch a lot of it. But it certainly looked like a lot of fighting. Seems that OBJ did nothing but start fights all day.

Yea everyone was kind of shocked he wasn’t ejected. May see some punishment from the league

The little bit that I did watch was Troy Aikman talking about how bad it was, and that he was surprised there hadn’t been an ejection. He was also saying that Tom Coughlin should have gotten involved to calm OBJ down. Pretty strong language from an announcer.

In other news, since my team is mathematically eliminated from playoff competition, I hereby am supporting the Cardinals for the Super Bowl.

In other, other news, the Panthers are now 14-0. Their last two games are @Atlanta, @Tampa. It seems like a foregone conclusion that they will win both of those games.

But do they have the skill to win it all? Much has been made of their undefeated season–but let’s keep it real. They played the NFC South (a suck division), the NFC East (a suck division), and the AFC South (a suck division). IIRC, none of those teams have a winning record. Their other two games were against Green Bay (who was in a downward spiral at the time) and Seattle (who was 2-4 at the time).

I’m not saying the Panthers don’t have some skill, but I also think they’ve had the advantage of playing one of the weakest schedules in the NFL.

Agreed Greenie. Panthers are a great team, they clearly lost focus against the giants and it almost hurt them. The 16-0 really doesn’t matter as much as keeping the MVP healthy for the playoffs. Your point about a weak schedule is true but I really cant think of many teams with a strong schedule, there are SO many bad football teams this year. Every time I see the Pats/Cards/Panthers play I feel like I see them play a terrible football team.

Will be interesting to see how Cam performs this post season. After thinking the AFC had the best teams early in the season, its looking like the NFC has the better teams at this point.

what about dem J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS

Called it.

In other news, my unwavering support of the Chiefs paid off in spades as we clinched our playoff spot yesterday.

Donkeys will lose tonight putting us in first place in the AFC West. We’ll take care of the Raiders next week and I have a feeling the Chargers will beat Denver.

Denver will go from having a first round bye to out of the playoffs. Oh what I time to be alive.

Yo Sweep!

Once upon a time, you said that Ray Guy was the only Raider you’d ever root for to make the HoF.

Since Charles Woodson announced his retirement, has your opinion changed?

Yesterday was nutty. The Steelers loss was jaw dropping. I think I saw they were like at 95% probability to make the playoffs before this week and now very badly need Rex Ryan to beat his former team. Meaning the Bills will probably rack up about 15 penalties and give up 35 points to Fitzpatrick. What a mess.

Belichick’s coin toss decision is a fun local topic for everyone to lose their minds over for the next week. It looks pretty stupid today, and it probably was but I personally didn’t mind that as much as I do the Pats conceding the end of the first half with 2 min and 2 timeouts left down by 7. Hopefully Vollmer can come back for the playoffs or the third meeting between the Pats and Jets could be the end of Brady’s career.

It’s actually pretty incredible Brady hasn’t even missed a snap or series, let alone a game with all the hits he’s taken this year.

Gisele must be getting those HGH packages mailed to her too.

True. The Cardinals are the team to beat in the NFC.

Finishing 5th in the AFC might actually be better than winning the AFC West and finishing 3rd. I’d rather play Houston on the road than play say the Steelers at home.

Before you answer that you would end up playing the Pats in round 2, not necessarily. The Steelers at #6 would most likely beat the Broncos if the latter won the division and had the #3 seed, so you would avoid the Pats in round 2. All this assuming the Steelers make it instead of the Jets, whom I consider less dangerous.

First off, that game last night sucked balls.

Secondly, you’re likely right. I just wanted to go to the game and I really wanted to see Denver get knocked completely out. If the Chiefs do wind up being the fifth seed, as seems likely, it would be pretty awesome to host the AFC Championship game. Not sure the Jets/Pittsburgh/Indy can make it that far though.

RIP Chip Kelly. Go back to college. Or to Cleveland, which has the same amount of talent.

I predicted this would happen after listening to him say how he was going to revolutionalize the game with his high speed offense. Trading away some of the team’s best players doesn’t help either.

Pretty shocking they couldn’t even let him finish out the final week. I mean coaching black monday is one of the best parts of the season! But yeah, Kelly’s GM skills left a lot to be desired. Even the most casual football fans were raising eyebrows at his offseason moves. Really no excuse not to win the NFC East this year.

Letting him go a week early gives them a jump on finding a new head coach. Maybe they’ll call Mike Leach next. Or Bobby Petrino.

From “Blogging the Boys” - Personally, I think people were too hard on Chip. Besides bringing in the wrong players, conjuring up schemes that don’t fit those said players, and having his players quit on him–he’s been fantastic.

Although I hate to say it (because I despise the team), I’m all in on the Cowboys winning the NFC East next year. A top 5 draft pick + healthy team should take them to at least 8-8, which will be enough to take the division.

(Tried to post a picture, but it didn’t work.)

greenman how you feel bout boys being 3.5 pt favorites this weekend?
