NFL Thread

If the allegations are true its is pathetic of Manning to be acting like this. I am glad the NFL is at least looking into it and I hope they are giving it a serious look. If Manning is a cheat he should be exposed.

If the allegations are false I hope Manning and others sue the pants off of Al Jazeera. This kind of reckless journalism is running wild now and its all for ratings. They do this because it works and the only way to make them hurt is financially.

I can’t root for Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. The guy is such a twat. I hope he gets buggered.

Since you’re a Brit I assume you drink like a fish. That’s pretty much all that’s expected of you while watching any football game.

wait, that’s a legitimate move in American football? And lots of drinking. This is going to be epic

What happens at the bottom of the pile, stays at the bottom of the pile.

1-12 on third down. 194 total yards. An interception. A lost fumble. 0 touchdowns. How many times does that offense win you a game in the current NFL? 3 out of 100?

That Broncos defense is one for the ages. Did some evil things to some pretty great offenses.

^ As much as the league wants the NFL to be about high-powered offense, defense still generally wins championships.

Indeed. Just one outlier. angel

^I imagine between those teams that led in total defense on that graphic is quite a few that led in total offense.

Pop quiz - Peyton Manning is the 12th starting QB to win multiple Super Bowls. (And the first to do it with two different teams.) Can you name the other eleven?

I was only able to name nine off the top of my head.

Bradshaw, Starr, Aikman, Montana, Brady, Eli, Roethlisberger, Elway, Staubach… umm shoot. Gotta be a Raiders QB in there. Ah, I’m too young.

Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, Ben Roethlisberger, Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, Eli Manning, Tom Brady, John Elway, and Jim Plunkett. I’m going to guess the last is whoever was QB for Miami when they had their perfect season. I think a backup started most of the season, but I think their normal starter came back for the SB, but could be wrong.

Can we finally put to bed that P fin Manning is the best lockdown QB in the history of the game.

One of the worst qb performances in super bowl history ends the debate?

^Or was it one of the best defensive battles in SB history?

In any case how does it end the debate?

Yea I agree I dont really see it. Glad to see manning get another, even if it was on the back of his defense. Lets hope he doesnt pull a Favre and stick around too long.

Well, a lot of people continue to say, ā€œManning only has one ring. If he were truly great, he’d have two or three or four.ā€ And that’s the sum of the debate. They don’t look at the ā€œrealā€ postseason stats (like Higgs mentioned) or career stats. They look at SB rings.

Now that he has two, that kind of ends the debate. Same stats, but one more ring. And that makes all the difference.

(Reminds me of the Jordan vs. Lebron debate. Six championships vs. two.)
