appeared in the mother of all (Exams),would u guys be so kind as to answer these questions as i am preparing for the JUNE’10 LEVEL 1 exam. 1.) SCHWESER Vs Stalla…what do u suggest?(Here i am refering to the study notes only) 2.)Are videos really necessary,i mean can’t i prepare without these? AND let me congratulate u all for the hard work u have put in for a single day CHEERS
???
videos would be a waste of time in my opinion if you have even a little bit of prior finance knowledge. Spending 1 hour on the books is 5x better than a 1 hour video IMO. As far as Schweser vs Stalla is concerned I can just tell you that I used a combination of Schweser and the CFAI textbooks which I think worked quite okay.
Video’s are a waste. I only used the Schweser notes and Q-Bank, and I found they were adequate.
Thank u guys…ur opinions are much appreciated.
Come on guys…need more opinions…now u have all the time in the world…PLEASE share ur wisdom.
Stalla vs schweser - I have seen both. I liked Stalla better Videos is just up to u…stalla package includes them. You might want to check out schweser and stalla’s website to compare their products and packages. For me, videos was very valuable at the beginning and towards the end. Towards the end, when I got too tired, I revised through the videos. Schweser videos might be a waste because no one can beat Peter Olinto (an instructor of STalla) in delivering lectures. Good Luck! Please pray for our results *fingers crossed*
i only used schweser, which i think was more that enough. studied ethics off the main CFAI books.
I used schweser study notes, answered questions in CFAI textbook, and helped retain and review everything i learned through Qbank questions. It worked out pretty well, I felt comfortable during the exam.
thanks sumz ,laydeelay and kmf229…but ladeelay and kmf229…didn’t u guys use the videos…if u did then which 1 did u use?
Schweser notes are awesome Videos are useless (YouTube has some free ones which are oooooook) Whatever you do make sure you get a question bank. It should be a prereq.
Thanx cfacowtown…so the schweser essential package will be more than enough.Right?
Yes I got the lowest package, and I also ordered the cue cards from stalla, which I found very very helpful, but are by no means needed. The essential pack is more than enough, save your money.
Thank u cfacowtown…u r such a sweetheart…by the way…how was ur exam…i am sure u did well
Hey cfacowtown…would u be so kind as to answer 1 more question…which calculator to go with…BA II PLUS OR Professional?
?
??
Jatboy I used the TI BA II Plus and it has worked flawlessly. Like any financial calc it takes a second to get used to, but I never had a problem with it.
Whats wrong guys…i am sure i didn’t ask for credit card no…Just asking for ur opinions
Sorry didn’t see you there. I would go with BAII + Pro, but that’s just because I really liked it. A lot of people have gripes about the buttons being to hard to press or something retarded like that, but it has some added functionality of the plus and its very intuitive to use over HP’s crap-shoot. Good luck.
