57 on BSAS PM…WOMP WOMP
bpdulog Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 57 on BSAS PM…WOMP WOMP I am not going to take this test, seems to be scores coming in way low. I took the finquiz mock for level II last year and pulled like a 40% my confidence was shattered.

I rather have these type of questions hit you in the practice sessions so you’re ready for the real deal. I have their version of Q-bank and am taking their mock on Monday, I’ll let you know how that turns out.

Schweser seems more scenario based whereas Finquiz is a lesson in vocab and memorization. The problem is the memorization style comes through in their Mock, which last year made it impossible. I like the CFA Mocks and Sample, I find them very representative of what was on the test last year.
Paraguay what were you scoring last year???
Soccertom9 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Paraguay what were you scoring last year??? I was talking Level II, not Level III. But for Level II Low 80’s on Schweser, passed all three samples from 77-80%.
How did you score on the actual exams??? Trying to benchmark myself with you ! Haha
I got >70 on all but one section. Not to discuss the actual exam but I thought that entire vignette was a trick and answered accordingly…it wasn’t a trick based on my scores.
Damn that’s really good!! I got mid 70s on my last two schweser exams… Hopefully that is good enough to feel comfortable in the exam…

So as obvious as it may seems => I’ll have to force myself to pay attention to each and every aspect of a question, even when I find it straightforward Results so far with schweser book1: Exam1 AM67 PM71 Exam2 AM73 PM70 So not really as good as I wanted, but still confident with 10 days to go, I still see quick gains with exam practice + I want to believe that some of the killer scores posted here are outliers and that this forum is above average => please let me believe that !!
2010 schweser tests took weeks ago PM sides, 75, 65, 75. 2011 mock- 68.33 2010 mock- 76.66 AM sides I don’t score myself, just try to learn, done 2001-06, have 07-10 to go. did 2010 schweser book 1 and 2011 schweser book 1 (i didn’t get the new schweser since not much changed in the cirriculum, but the practice tests are actually somewhat different). will def hit the 2007, 08, 09, 10 AM sides before test day. maybe will do the 2009 mock. things i want to look over now before test day: 1. Ethics 2. GIPS 3. cobb douglas/tobin q stuff, just b/c it’s new and very testable 4. quick drive through taxes in PM/gifting to lock down the basics should we see it in the AM 5. psych stuff just go over notecards at this point beyond that, not sure if i’m going to make any massive strides. know it or i don’t on the calcs, will try to lock up some fuzzier subjective junk here til test day. i was a band 8 fail last year. i really am hoping not to ever do this again come 2 weeks from now.
Bannisja what were you scoring last year?? I was band 8 last year and totally don’t remember my scores from then…
60’s and 70’s i think. love to study another several months only to score around the same. i feel like i know more than i did last year, but we’ll see if that is enough in 2 weeks. L3 there is an element of luck on if the test hits on what you’re good at or not. if not, i still plan to fight my way through it. this is the year. i will admit, though, i don’t log NEARLY as many hours as most on this forum do. i maybe will do about 200 hrs. i just don’t have time in my life to log a ton more.
How are you guys grading the past CFA exams? Applying the Schweser methodology to CFA (ie 1 pt for circling the correct answer, if correct 2 points for justification, etc)? The open ended (non template) questions seem like they will be a real pain to grade and include a ton of assumptions.

Bannisja, the 2011 mock you are refering to, is it the schweser or the CFA?
Schweser Book 1 Exam 1 AM: 72% Schweser Book 1 Exam 1 PM: 72% Schweser Book 1 Exam 2 AM: 74% Schweser Book 1 Exam 2 PM: 77% Schweser Book 1 Exam 3 AM: 73% Schweser Book 1 Exam 3 PM: 77% CFAI mock: 70% (ugh) I have always felt that one should take 5-8% off Schweser mult. choice, so I guess the mock score is not a surprise. Still do not like the score. My brain hurts.

I feel like the Schweser exams have a lot of this and even the answers don’t seem to reflect what they were actually asking, or it was confusing as to what you were to write since there was no template. Prime example, Book 2, Test 1, A.M question 7.
CFA Sample 1: 67% CFA 2008 AM: 54% – Several questions I had no clue on CFA 2009 AM: 79% – Seemed relatively easy…the WACC question threw me off though Yet to take 2010 AM and 2011 Mock.
Schweser Vol 1 and 2 - all around 70-80% CFA Mock 62% (yikes) CFA 2007-2009 AM Sessions - also around 70-80% (I find these difficult to correct, but tried to be on the conservative side). Schweser Q-bank - 1200 questions with an average score of 78% I have reached a point where I am starting to feel that I know as much as I ever will…until the actual exam I have the CFA 2010 AM session to complete, will keep on hitting the Q-bank (just to keep things fresh), and go over a few difficult areas one more time (Ethics, GIPS, and the currency stuff that keeps confusing me no end!). But I am definitely starting to lose steam and just want to take the exam and get it over with (hopefully!).
