OMG.

This is serious - I had an interaction with an individual today. They were better than me, and I could tell it. Then I got an e-mail, signed: Better T. You, MBA I googled their name, adding ‘comma MBA’ - I found this on their linked-in: Education: University of Phoenix Undergrad school (terrible one) That just made my day… Does anyone else laugh when someone throws , MBA after their name in e-mails?

I used to work with a dude that had MBA after his name on his gmail account. Complete tool.

I know a guy that just graduated from a Chiropractic school in a shopping center and now his linked in profile reads “Dr. backcrakcer”

^lol!

I think it’s been established that puttin MBA behind one’s name is a DB move. This doesn’t mean an MBA from a reputatable school is not an impressive accomplishment. Personally, I don’t even think there is a good reason why it’s such a bad idea other than the fact that most people would frown this practice. But I do come across more Joe Smith, MBA (from Devry) than Joe Smith MBA (from HBS). Maybe that’s why.

If I had an MBA from UofP and one from Devry, could I put ‘, MBA^2’ on my hotmail email?

do ppl really care about MBA or CFA AFTER they get a decent job? the only ppl that talk about that stuff are new grads and mid level analyst. its funny when someone tries to brag about an MBA, cause then they have just set themselve up for future degradation. Its amazing how offended they get when you tell them you would use their MBA degree as tissue paper cause it gives better traction.

why not just put your penis size on there while you’re at it.

ah, well… neither will be that impressive … hahaa i have never put credentials on my signature or card ever anyways

A manager where I work signs: Dr. Hugetool MBA Dr. and MBA in the same signature. + his MBA comes from a crappy uni. I feel sorry for the guy.

CFA & CPA on cards is fine. I would never put MBA on a card or signature.

In Canada, it is accepted practice to put MBA after one’s name.

Linkedin research project - use the advanced search function to find candidates by specifying a school name (i.e UoP) without limiting the geographical area. Then filter the results by only selecting graduates of the business school. Of those, find the percentage of people who listed their name on Linkedin as Major Tool, MBA. Repeat for DeVry, HBS, Wharton. Null hypothesis: the percentage for UoP, DeVry is the same as the percentage for HBS, Wharton. I believe you should be able to reject it on a statistically significant level. The results can be worthy of publication in a major journal.

i searched for UofP MBA and got a realtor who used it 10 times in her profile.

Yeah, I actually have a call with Canadian clients soon. Anybody know the current USD/beaver pelt exchange rate?
