oh nice one…i put both ive never seen this come up and spent some time thinking about…but i say…why not??? the only rule i remember seing is you cant say you’re a candicdate unless you’re enrolled. in this case he was enrolled. but at same time, he did pass level 2. there was no mention of being a CFA 2 or partial designation. simple fact. Level 2 was completed. i dont know…anyone?
Not to discuss any specifics but the question on repo rate and leading/lagging index were complete cr@p. The leading/lagging was like one sentence in the entire material, I remembered reading it but I couldnt recall it on the exam. And I am so fed up with ethics, I dont think I could have gotten those all correct with the books in front of me.
nother good recall…what was the repo business… what was the ratio they were looking for??? i had leading to coincident but not confident
repo term?
What has least impact on repo rate? a) borrower quality b) collateral quality c) length of time d) risk free rates

D) Risk Free Rate Repo Rate is more dependant on the fed funds rate.
i put collateral quality…it was a tricky one though

Ok, D wasn’t really a choice, i made that up. it prob was fed funds rate
cant say fed funds rate cuz that was US…the option was interest rates and i think they did that to be international so i think the int rates was ok… i put collateral quality. wasn’t the whole notion of collateral whether it was delivered or not and not focused on quality? maybe im way out to lunch on this one…
I put borrower quality… because of the collateral… Ponpon
Good question. I dont remember the specifics of the case.
I put Japan and Japan, and I checked them over multiple times. Pretty sure that was correct.
A
i too put borrower quality
i dont know though pimp, i just know the fed fund is a factor…i dont remember reading if any of the factors have less of an impact or not. could be that some have more of an impact than others. i just said int rates were ok cuz the exam is international focus. my answer was collateral quality. all it would take would be to open up my book and see what they siad about collateral…if they talk about quality, then im wrong…but if all they talk about is whether collateral is delivered or not, i dont know if that’s the same thing as quality. who knows
I thought it was scarcity of the collateral that was a factor, not quality that affected the rate.
borrower quality is the right choice. Risk free rate is not correct because it correlates with prevailing interest rates (or federal funds rate) which is explicitly listed as one of the factors on which it depends. I had all the factors in my notes and felt like an idiot for spending so much time on trying to remember these.
