8/60 on the morning. Anyone want to put odds on me passing?
How do you guys review during the week following a practice tests? As it stands, I’ll pick a few concepts I struggled with (parity conditions, growth equations, etc.) and drill each for a couple hours during the week and have another crack at an exam on Saturday. Rinse, repeat.
How are you guys approaching it? Are you looking at more broad topics like CF one day, PM another?
I know mpearc asked a similar question earlier in the week - sorry if I’m stepping on your toes.
nah, man - have you studied anything? honest question…or are you just getting to the dance?
yep, i review single concepts rather than overall topics, but time will come to sum up some general ideas
sorry for a little offtop but do we really need to know these formulas with strange greeks from ‘growth theories reading’??? there is no calculations required in LOS…
I think the mistake I’ve been making is marking the papers and then noting to myself that i need to review a broad topic at a later point in time, eg the whole of Property. A focussed approach of taking 5-6 smaller areas and then really drilling them is probably a better way of doing it. At this stage we probably need to be tactical when picking the areas to review
Regarding the growth formulas, I guess we just need to understand them. Although, there are quite a few examples in the syllabus that don’t have ‘calculate’ in the LOS and calculation questions come up in mocks.
Up to this point I’ve only done/read questions from the 5 Schweser books. I’m now going back and studying the material on the topics that I’ve seen often in the questions and still don’t know.
Thoughts on the strategy?
Why was the thread on BPP mock exams deleted? Is it because they aren’t a sponsor of AnalystForum?
I’m curious to know how BPP mocks are since they are 4 for like $80 bucks if I recall correctly.
65%, No below 50%, Ethics is still a hard one
is 2013 cfa mock tougher than 2012
I got 72% on the morning of Elan Mock 1.
In level they were quite a bit harder than even the actual cfa test. Does anyone have an opionion on the difficulty of them this year?
I also did BSAS on Saturday and got in the 80s.
Guys, need an advice;)
Is there any point in doing Schweser Practise Exams 4-6 afert doing 1-3 and scoring 80+ on average? Are 4-6 tougher or easier than 1-3? Or is it better to jump right into CFAI Mocks?
I would really appreciate a good info on this as at this stage there is no time to play around with worthless stuff.
thanks in advance!
4 is tougher than 1-3 I thought. But I wasn’t scoring in the 80s thats for sure. Is this your first time sitting for the exam?
Yep, 1st and hopefully the last time;)
Congrats on the mock scores, very impressive. I’m in the 60s
Anyway, I would definitly try 4 and see how it is for you. It seemed like a step up from 1-3 (where I was high 60s).
Whats the weights in CFA 2013 mock?
Heard equity is just 15%
maybe that’s the case because there’s a boat load of new info in Alternative Investments which implies that section can no longer be only 5%
any views on how the 2013 mock compares to the 2012?
is q no 8 in cfa 2011 morning session? exhibit 2 term structure days are wrong?
takin it tomorrow, will provide insight then.
