Did you take the 2010 CFAI mock? M.
Aimee - I am still in the low 60s on some exams too …but we still have almost 4 weeks to improve… I screwed up the Alternate Investments part of the Volume 2 Exam 1 AM as well - got a big 4/14 on one question… Are you planning on doing the CFAI samples & mock? Have you done any of the past years AM papers? I did the 2008 one, and found it much more straight forward than some of the schweser papers, and definately more straight forward than the Stalla one.
I agree on the stalla AM’s. Half the questions I have to cheat and look at the beginning of an answer just to figure out what they are looking for. questions are very vague. Thanks for your input Jut …makes me feel somewhat better about my lousy score! Never scored that low on a practice test before!
Honestly I like to save all of the CFAI materials for last, since I view Schweser to be more of a tool for testing your knowledge on certain topics and finding holes. I plan doing both samples and the mock, plus exams 2007-2009. I will also probably pull all of the IPS’s that I can find from prior to 2007 but more for practice than for testing purposes. But before I do any of that I want to get through at least Schweser Vol 1 and maybe Vol 2, but I’ve been using Vol 2 more casually just for practice questions (although I do still grade myself ). I tried to do EOCs but I found them far too time consuming so I will probably skip most of those unless I’m really struggling with a certain topic.
Schweser Volume 1 Exam 1 PM - 81.6% Exam 2 AM - 55.5%
Schweser-Volume1-Exam-1AM: 106/180 = 58.9%
Nice job LGF
Schweser Volume 1 Exam 1 AM - 64% PM - 79% Must improve my performance on the essay portion of the exam.
anyone done vol 2? I did the first two; 1am- 70% 1pm- 82% 2am- 68% 2pm- 82% How does volume 2 compare? I know at level 1 and 2 it seemed much harder than Vol 1. I’m just concerned cuz my afternoon score seems high. Making sure I don’t get over confident. Obviously need to improve the morning.

That was my plan as well, Aimee, but since taking last year’s CFA mock (multiple choice), I’ve thrown that out the window. They really aren’t comparable at all, and I’m gonna get through all the CFA stuff I can get my hands on and then if there’s time left over do some Schweser.
Vol 1 Exam 1 AM: 91% PM: 98% Exam 2 AM: 89% PM: 95% Exam 3 AM: 95% PM: 96% Vol 2 Exam 1 AM:99% PM: 97%
^^ Vol 2 Exam 1 AM:99% Can’t believe at all !!! Anyway, if it is true (can’t be) you are great.
plug and chug, I think you need to study some more…there’s still some man! If you don’t get 100% even, you fail. Good luck!
just took Vol 1- Exam 3 AM… scored in range of 69-78… this one seemed pretty easy for schweser… no real calcs for the IPS stuff…

I took the volume 2 first AM exam last night… got a 67 and felt pretty smug about it until now.

just saw the notice on the score sheet of schweser, which says you should adjust your score downward by 10-15 percent to get a more accurate measure … dont assume, for example, that if your essay answer is close, the graders will be generous with points. so how close is your answer to get a good score then? you have to use all the words in the “standard answer”? how the hell can ANYONE do it, and how can we pass? level 3 AM still remain a myth for me. it is even bloody harder than to actually manage a $b portfolio. I finished all 6 exams from schweser, according to my quite rigid scoring, I got 63%-73% in the morning and 68%-80% in the afternoon, but seriously double if I have to come back to the forum next year. a true nightmare haunting around every single minute …
Vol 1 1 AM - about 63% 1 PM - 72% 2 AM - about 65% 2 PM - 82% 3 AM - 69 - 77% 3 PM - 75% Vol 2 1 AM - 65% 1 PM - 75% I am consistently doing pretty well on afternoon, there is always just 1 or 2 sections that get me…I do feel as though the CFA versions at least morning wise are harder than Schweser, but i guess that is to be imagined…
