Agree. I don’t know the true story to this day. IMO Yavlinskiy was a good person and smart, but too soft… Russians unfortunately are used to and historically wanted the strong hand… Or at least they needed it back then after the outrageous 90s…

To hear about Russia and Russian women particularly, from Americans and others here is truly entertaining. Have to agree with many things though some of them are exaggerated to the point of comism. Keep going!
When I was in the US i saw the extent of the trategy with American women. Compared to Russian women I didn’t find most of them attractive. And then I started to understand why so many westerners marry Russian and Ukrainian girls. They get to know each other on web sometimes.
It’s is not only the looks, it is an interesting personality, certain level of education in things that are important for women (eg, literature). and this unique feel for men. The foreigners are see-through for Russian women, while we are a little bit harder, it takes them a little bit more time to possess us. Some of them are perfectly wild…

Russian men know how to treat women. It’s awesome. You’ll frequently see a group of 4 or 5 gopniks on vacation getting hammered with one another all day and all night. Their women sit in the corner or sun bathe topless and just look hot while the boys do their drinking and largely ignore them.
Only once the russian men are done drinking do they bother to notice the women. It’s brilliant. They take them back to their hotel rooms and get it on. Rinse and repeat.
On the other hand, we western men spend all day rubbing sun tan lotion all over the bloated porpoise we call a girlfriend. We don’t hang out with our guy friends. When we do we have to apologize for it. When we get too drunk we get chastised relentlessly. To top it off, most of us would fit into our american girlfriends jeans.

RE: High Maintenance. Russian women, in my opinion, are not necessarily “high maintenance”. They just focus on material things more than US women. This is interpreted as “high maintenance” to people who are not used to this.
US women, on the other hand, grow up watching all these romance movies and with people telling them they are unique snow flakes. So you need to appeal to their emotional side. And face it - even if you are poor in the US, your life is better than in Russia. So demonstration of material means is not as important over here.
I’d be f’in hilarious if krnyc2008 turns out to be a Russian spy in the US while Ivan is a US spy in Moscow. The CFA program and AF provide perfect cover for such activities.

I’ve dated many nationalities. Anyway, plenty of “Americans” are just fine…I mean, don’t date the fatties and the b!tches, which exist in all cultures in various proportions. “Americans” generally came from somewhere else. Plenty are attractive. In NYC there are tons of “Americans” that left the former USSR. Personally, I like the US for the variety. Russia is fine (Moscow’s too expensive), I find some areas of Europe to be extremely arrogant.
Sure there are more fatties in the US. There is also greater income inequality and variance on education and intelligence levels, but that doesn’t mean everyone I hang out with is poor and dumb.

Normally spies are not particularly attractive. Most spies are chosen to look ordinary. Part of the whole point of spying is to blend in and be unmemorable so that people don’t notice what you are doing.
Of course, there are exceptions here and there, and Anna Chapman would be hard not to remember…
