Because it is a recent event and people have short memories. For instance, people barely talk about the various outrageous statements that Trump has made a few months ago. Trump’s image might improve gradually if he behaves for some period of time. However, this resets every time new controversy arises.
^The quote in question is hardly unique when people talk about their parents. I say it was intentional. And anyway, the response is comical. Biden and the Obamas have lifted many lines. Whether anyone cares is directly related to their political bias. Don’t people realize how silly they sound when the bias is so obvious? The idea that this reflects on how someone will govern is ridiculous. Hell, Michelle lifted lines from Saul Alinsky during the speech in question. Just an example of the media playing the people. I’m surprised who allows themselves to be played. Here, I’ll lift a quote from a news article- " Barack Obama: “Don’t tell me words don’t matter.” As then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) surpassed Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary, largely on the strength of his oratory, Clinton said that Obama’s record was “just words.” Obama responded in a speech whose refrain was lifted from then-Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. The Obama campaign did not even bother to refute the claim. Instead, it circulated examples of lines that it said Clinton herself had borrowed from Obama. The left media defended Obama, saying that he had not committed plagiarism, but merely, at worst, “poor footnoting.”
Alright, that makes sense.
You seem pretty biased though. It might be shocking for biased people to hear, but not everyone is biased. Reckless corner-cutting is a pattern we see across Trump’s history, as is not caring if he gets caught…that’s a big deal for rational thinkers, this is a serious job opening.
But this becomes pointless to discuss, because Trump fans are self-selected irrationals. Which is why I question Ohai’s theory that they will come to their senses, perhaps if the evidence somehow crosses a certain line, but not sure what that line would be? They seem to be able to shrug off anything he does as being “no big deal”, while babbling about email conspiracy theories or whatever.
Says the authority on Donald Trump…You remind of the game whack-a-mole. I already buried you in the Taleb/nationality discussion. You simply are not a challenge and therefore a bore. And not everyone is biased? You’ve said some dumb things, but this takes the cake. To be human is to be biased. The trick is to recognize your own and overcome. A journey you have yet to begin. Why don’t you try to redeem yourself by arguing for Trump for a while? Anyone with the skills you claim should be able to promote both sides.
norovirus at the RNC, well done PA, WELL DONE.
^Infrared scanning of participants to come?
Everyone has some biases, but many are indifferent between Hillary and Trump. 10% of people say they are Undecided. These voters can be susceptible to PR gaffes or marketing. Also, bias is not absolute - maybe someone would support Hillary on the basis of policy, but gender bias pushes them to the point of indifference between Hillary and Trump.
Oooooo this is interesting! I believe PA and Ghibli both believe themselves to be impervious to bias and absolutely an analytical machine. I would enjoy seeing them go at it!
Well, I’m definitely biased, especially when it comes to a tight ass and long legs. Amazing how much more tolerant I become. I’m working on it though. And I can’t rationalize my enjoyment of mma, but I still watch. I also recognized a long time ago that most of us value what we are good at. I’ve been working for years to overcome that one. Much more respectful of other people’s paths than I once was. Unfortunately though, our most dangerous biases are the ones we don’t recognize. Probably why I like being around people with an edge that will call me out when need be. It’s a good day when you learn something new about yourself. Oh, I would put the odds of PA challenging me, or most people for that matter, in person at pretty close to zero. He is no doubt an Internet warrior.
haha 100% probability of your last statement being true
No double standard. No bias. Edit: Well said- http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/is-there-a-plagiarism-double-standard/article/2596932
No, I would never promote Hitler, in order to “argue for both sides”, and show how not biased I am.
That’s what Americans do.
Yes, that’s a fair description of me, probably one of the most unbiased homo sapiens to walk the planet. It takes decades of work. The result are worth it though – better analyses, and thus better decisions, and better investment returns.
Democrat logic: hillary’s multiple lies to Congress over emails? I don’t care Lied to the American public? Don’t care Flipped flopped on just about every stance you can think of (except maybe guns)? Don’t care. Responsible for benghazi American deaths? Don’t care. Clinton foundation funded by middle east? Don’t care Campaign funded by big banks and wall street + middle east countries? Don’t care. Trump’s wife says 3 sentences that share similar words with Michelle Obama? “OMG SCANDAL. FRONT PAGE SCANDAL. FRAUD”
The only relevant logic is risk/return profile. It’s a no-brainer decision (zero upside with either, big downside with Trump).
Not sure why I have to jump into these political fights and introduce basic analytical thought? Cmon guys.
Anyone still feeling the Bern?
Whitewater Cattle futures windfall Bosnia
Itera, you need to let go of your anger and just trust Hillary.
Yea, the list is just way too long to include everything. I’d be here for the entire day.

Itera, you need to let go of your anger and just trust Hillary.
What anger? I find this all rather funny more than anything else. Trust hillary to corrupt the govt more? That’s the only logical conclusion anyone with a brain can come up with

Anyone still feeling the Bern?
No.
