Schweser ONLY Mock Results and Discussion

Schweser Book 1, Exam 1, AM: 75% Scweser Book 2, Exam 1, PM: 74% CFAI Mock 2009 PM: 83% CFAI Mock 2010 AM: 83% CFA Mock 2010 PM: 73% The last one has shaken my confidence. I did really poorly on Ethics (6/12 cumulative in both sessions). Have my task cut out…

Do you guys think that the Schweser Practice exams are supposed to be harder or easier than the actual exam? I have heard that they are harder but I am seeing people score 80%+ easily on these exams in this thread…

Schweser throws in these pretty comprehensive vignettes and makes you do a ton of calculations. If you’re scoring 60+ on Schweser, I think you have a decent shot of passing.

I don’t know man. I just got s 70% on Schweser Exam 1 AM and I thought I would have gotten a 50%. I feel really uncomfortable with the material still. I remember in Exam 1 if you got close to 70% you were in good shape… Do you guys know if the scoring is the same in Level II that is was in Level I? Like is 70% effectively the fail-safe point for passing so long as you don’t tank ethics?

I hear you. I am in the same boat. I have been doing practice tests for few days now. Every time I feel worse taking the test than scoring it at the end, although I am not killing it at the scores either. They have been mostly just under 70%. Confidence is a bit low this time around compared to Level I. Is it a good idea to keep doing mock exams or go back to review during this last week?

Took Book 2 Exam 1 AM and finished in a record 1 hour and 37 minutes and a score of 77. I only had 2 incorrect answers up to question 30, but I completely fell apart in the options vignette, specifically in relation to deltas and gammas.

Just finished Book 1 Exam 1 PM @ 78% in 1 hr 45m. I am starting to feel more comfortable with my preparation, but I know these tests are not ‘full strength’…very close to being prepared, and all within 30 days. Soo close, just need to keep it up for one more week!! cheers to all you studs getting 80’s and whatnot…PEACE!!

Book 1 Exam 3: AM: 85 (2 hours) PM: 92 (1:30 hours) Can’t wait for Saturday!

Just finished the 2nd exam in schweser practice exam book #1: Exam #1 AM - 87% Exam #1 PM - 92% Exam #2 AM - 78% Exam #2 PM - 88% CFA samples were tougher…got a 78 on each one (may have been 77…don’t remember and don’t have the patience to go through 5 different sites to get my login info again…). Made some stupid mistakes, got lucky on some others…I’m going to go back to the books on some weak areas tomorrow, work the 3rd exam Tues, and the CFAI mock on Wed…

Will be finishing the rest of Book 2 this week.

Just took Book 2, Exam 1 PM and received a 73. Based on cpepin’s above post, I may have actually scored higher, but overall I’m satisfied. SS#17 Derivatives, specifically currency swap valuation, blew up in my face. I’m definitely reviewing SS#17 in its entirety before exam day.

Reviewing the rest of the day…2010 Mock Tomorrow…Review the rest of the week, followed by prayer. Schweser Exams: Exam #1 AM - 87% Exam #1 PM - 92% Exam #2 AM - 78% Exam #2 PM - 88% Just took AM section of Exam #3 & got a 90%. I’m going to work the other half of it tomorrow and the CFAI mock on Wednesday. There’s still time to try and enjoy a few beers for the holiday…

Good scores all around! Not sure if this has been discussed before, but are the Schweser mocks harder than the actual test?

The Legend, is that the 1st run taking those? Those are IMPRESSIVE results, given the time you finished them. 92% in 1.5 hours is extraordinary.

OK I just took Schweser Book 1, Exam 2 AM… Got a 75% on it, with quite a few guesses. Did any one else think that they focused too much on the smaller topics (PM, AI etc) and the more obscure stuff in quant? I am suddenly feeling much less confident now. I’ve been tempting to take book 1 exam 3 on Thursday to be prepared for d-day. Do you think that’s a good idea coz I’m afraid I may peak in that exam and do badly in the real one. If you already took it, is it worthy to take? Thanks.

The Eq in the afternoon was worth it b/c there is good mix of quant and qual questions. I am good at the core equity section concepts and formulas but apparently was not good at the qual “fringe” chapters. It also informed me I was not as good at the “easier” derivative concepts as I thought. These two things brought my score down.
