Schweser ONLY Mock Results and Discussion

mutualfundsig, you’ll see that exam 3 of Schweser has a lot of similar questions to the first CFA sample, so that prepared me…

well then, after I review this cluster fuck…I should be all set for Schweser Sample 3 on Sat. Thanks and good lookin out!

Judge my scores. . . I’m also curious if I should be worried or confident. BSAS am: 75 BSAS pm: 83 Volume 1 exam 1 am: 82 exam 1 pm: 85 exam 2 am: 73 exam 2 pm: 78 exam 3 am: 73 exam 3 pm: 83 Volume 2 exam 1 am: 82 exam 1 pm: tomorrow exam 2 am: maybe after the cfa mock exam exam 2 pm: CFAI Mock: I will be taking early next week Overall Avg. so far is 79.33%

Book 7 is killing my confidence (past Exam 1 morning) … is starting to knock my confidence… anyone else in the same boat? (getting destroyed in exam 2 afternoon…

Yes Book 7 is much harder. I got a 75% on test 1 and was a little surprised that I did that well. BOOK 2 IS LOADED WITH MISTAKES ESPECIALLY TEST 1. I don’t want to mess anyone up but if you have not taken EXAM 1 Question 20 “disreguard” 69 “the null hypothesis is H0: b2 >= 0” 85 is totally wrong don’t spend any time this question it will ruin your ability to measure how much time it takes to do an exam, in depth NPV question and all of answers are totally wrong. 107 uses Exhibit 1 from page 61. The label for Net Income in Exhibit 1 should be “Net Income - Next Year’s Forecast.” ROE should be calculated as 19.5/79.5.

My results so far (way behind all of you guys): Book 1: Exam 1 AM: 75% Book 2: Exam 1 PM: 74% I thought the question about the NPV of the replacement project was answered wrong in the book. Any one else agree? Given the very limited time, I plan to do only 2 or 3 more exams. I will do this year’s CFAI free mock, but am not sure whether to pick Schweser exams or the CFAI sample exams for the rest. What do you guys say?

Based on where I am scoring (below you) and responses to my scord you should be feeling good. You’ve got more 8 handles than 7 handles. hit the CFA mock for a better idea than schweser though (so says consensus).

Took Exam 1 in Book 2: AM- 85% PM- 77% I felt much more comfortable taking this test than I did with others, especially the AM. Of the 9 questions I got wrong in AM, 5 of them were in Economics and Derivatives, which makes me feel pretty good. I did the PM section at night and made a few questionable decisions. Exam 2 & 3 this weekend- hoping for 80+ on all four sessions and to get a new high score and maybe break 90%. Not holding my breath though…

I have only taken exam #1 from the first book…plan on working the other 2 over the next couple of days: AM - 87% PM - 92% Hopefully its not just a fluke…

^^ Wow. One of the first 9 handles I’ve seen in a while. Is that timed and in a full test setting (no checking answers as you go?). NICE either way.

Yeah, about 2.5 hours each session in my office after work… I felt like I passed, but was surprised to see a 92%. Also, I thought that fixed income and derivatives were 2 of the sections that would kill me but I got 100% each…ethics continues to be my kryptonite…I say that I hope it wasn’t a fluke because while I was only completely stumped on a couple of questions, there are a lot more that I was less than 100% on the PM session. However, I learned last year to go with my gut instinct…too many times that I went back and “over thought” a simple question, changed the answer at the last minute, got out to my car at lunch or after the exam to look up the question, and realized that I had the right answer the first time. That’s my advice to anyone. Do not change from your gut instinct, especially on qualitative questions, unless you have one of those “Ah-ha” moments that makes you 100% sure it should be something else.

I just took the 2009 CFAI mock exam PM session . Got a 83%, with a lot of answers that I was not sure of, but were not complete guesses. I had read on the boards that the 2009 CFAI mock exam was much easier than the actual…Can any one confirm that?

My Volume 1 results: 1AM = 75 1PM = 73 2AM = 73 2PM = 75 3AM = 70 3PM = 90 I found 3PM incredibly easy.

First Schweser: 1AM: 76% / 142 min (last week) 1PM: 90% / 106 min (today) Not gonna be too carried away by this though. I was hitting ~80% on mocks last year and only managed a lvl9 fail :-/

I just took my first Schweser Practice Test… Volume 1, Exam 1: Morning - 48/60 (80%) Afternoon - 51/60 (85%) Total - 99/120 (82.5%) Breakdown Ethics - 8/12 - 67% Quantitative Methods - 5/6 - 83% Economics - 3/6 - 50% Financial Reporting & Analysis - 17/18 - 94.4% Corporate Finance - 10/12 - 83% Equity Investments - 16/18 - 89% Fixed Income Investments - 10/12 - 83% Alternative Investments - 4/6 - 67% Derivative Investments - 8/12 - 67% Portfolio Management - 12/12 - 100% Seems I’m behind some of the people here that started these 6 weeks ago! I’m happy though, ahead of my pace from Level 1 and feel pretty good at 83% and 7.5 full days left to study. Planning to take another Schweser practice exam tomorrow, another Sunday, CFAI Mock on Monday, then hopefully 2 of the Schweser Vol. 2 exams from Tues-Fri along with thorough review of my weak points.

Just finished Book 2 Exam 3 AM, got an 83.34%. Delighted.

oops… 22/24 on equities actually

Just did my first schweser vol2 AM - 78%. Got killed in Fixed Income. Need to nail that OAS/liquidity concept. 2 questions, for not reading the question properly. No Excuse for that

Did Exam 3 today… Still think the CFA samples were really hard, but served a good purpose in not allowing me to slack off. Exam 1 AM: 55/60 - 91.67% Exam 1 PM: 48/60 - 80.00% Exam 2 AM: 46/60 - 76.67% Exam 2 PM: 49/60 - 81.67% Exam 3 AM: 44/60 - 73.33% Exam 3 PM: 50/60 - 83.33% CFA Sample 1: 58% CFA Sample 2: 63% CFA Mock AM: CFA Mock PM: Schweser Mock:
