kris10 - Former Lurker Failing again is not an option. I’m in.
Dingo! is in for next year… Also, congrats to the folks that are going to be taking it for the 3rd or 4th time. The fact that you are willing to put that type of effort into something year over year is def something to be proud of even if the results haven’t been exactly as you had hoped. A wise man once said there is no such thing as a failure who keeps trying. I’m going to start studying earlier, study ethics like a mofo, get my equities above 70 (I was between 50 and 70) and move my band 9 to a freakin pass.
4th try here we come. I finally learned my lesson that if I really wanna do this I’m gonna have to suck it up and actually prepare corectly. 2 band 10s in row kinda stings though.
- Nephi I guess more time now will take off some pressure and having been through it once will hopefully make it a better experience. Congrats to everyone who passed, you guys and gals did it!
U guys made my day!!! 4th try but u have given something to look froward to:) I want to start early with my 2009 CFA books so could someone post a link to show the difference b/w 2009 and 2010 so that I can skip unwanted topics. Lets nail it next time…Iam in!!!
I’m with ashi17277, starting early with CFAI texts. I know some people don’t like them but I’m doing this bastard of an exam a 5th time. If I have to work like a dog to make sure I pass then thats my punishment for being so lazy the last 3 years.
This is my first attempt on LII and disappointed on my result. I’ll definitely read the CFAI texts for next June. Just registered tonight. Good luck to you all who makes commitment.
3rd time here in 2010. Studying for the GMAT for a few before picking the books back up.
Just got my LII failed and considering should I retake in 10?? the grid is satisfactory but result is frustrating…
Will be back in 2010, see you guys around October.
I thought I could fail but not below Band 9 or 10. Band 2 Fail…it bleeds…after 4-5 mnths of Prep. Something badly went wrong. Was too discouraging attempt. I am certainly in for 2010…but this time its going to be different.
Misery loves company…count me in babe. Band 6 this year down from band 8 last year. If you gonna fail, fail in style. This seems to support the argument made by the guy who is quitting the program… However, Topics I studied v. well-> >70% Topics I missed, skipped, guessed etc -> <50% Topics passed last yr+didnt study this year->fail and vice versa I knew i didnt stand a chance even b4 the exam started but I still walked into that room with my head up and did the best i could. "Winners are not those who never fail, but those who never quit” - Someone else said that, maybe a bit too corny in the current backdrop. My point is as NYsnow said: do what you gotta do and rape this thing in 2010. And then rape its sister, L3. :))
Guys! Chamarr and DSLHU! This is my via dolorosa for L2: 2005: fail 2006: fail 2007: fail 2008: fail 2009: pass You won’t believe how much effort and time I put there in 5 years; even having strong financial background and easily obtained other qualifications. At some point this just became my idee fixe. The exam turned into part of my life and my thoughts. I never thought that I would give in even if I had 10 fails. Now when I saw the results I just didn’t believe that I’m through. But it’s really rewarding now. Exam is tricky, complex, questionable but it’s equal for everybody. Some genious guys do it easily, somebody have to suffer. But the exam is challenge for you and once taken decision to dive into this we need hard study and luck to pass it. The thing is not bad as one could imagine. Just look at the athletes who are participating in the Olympics. If they fail they have to wait 4 years to re-take! And the time is more ruthless towards muscules rather than brains. I even have some strange filings about completion of CFA program - if it’s done some time it would be unusual to live without that stress and study time; I think I will just sign up for something else. Guys, just don’t give up so easily!
Be positive!! that is the key! I am in, band 8
+1 I’m in
First time through gave me a band 10. Surprising result (thought I’d be worse), but seeing it motivated me to do a lot more for prep for 2010. Count me in!

I am in.
Count me in. I plan on using this board extensively as a studying tool as well - no more lurking. This time around, CFA material + schwesser = 300 - 350 hours. I really don’t feel like failing this thing twice. Also, I noticed a “Sanka” on this board recently. I have no relation to them. But I find it quite humourous.
Unless God changes my course, then I’m in for a second time (band 4)!
