For the record, it’s not the republicans who are “pestering” her about her email server, it’s the FBI. The republicans are happy to mention it, but they’re not the ones investigating her.

Out of all the Republican candidates, Trump is the closest to Dems. Look at his stances on social issues (ex immigration), taxation and free trade. He also doesn’t seem to want to get involved in Syria and opposed the Iraq war.

Last I checked, the FBI is part of the Department of Justice. Its director was appointed by President Obama and confirmed by a democrat led Senate and he reports to the Attorney General, who was also appointed by President Obama.

It is a little odd. The Republicans are presumably driving the two-decade-long quest to dig up whatever mud they can on the Clintons, and this is the latest chapter in that saga. I’m not saying that the Clintons are squeaky clean, but I don’t get the sense that they’re any dirtier than the usual suspects, and so politics is pushing these investigations to be louder and go beyond what is likely their normal expiration date.
Nevertheless, the Higgs is right that the FBI reports to the executive, which is Obama, and the president under ordinary circumstances can crush an investigation if he wants to. Presumably that would be bad publicity, though, as would any positive finding from the FBI. So it’s hard to say who is driving the investigation, but it is pretty clear that if the Republicans weren’t pushing for it, it would likely just go away.

Publicity might go away, but the FBI will still have to look into everything, and this process will probably take months or even years, even if we don’t hear about it. Hillary did, after all, conduct government business on an unregulated system. Imagine if regulators found Goldman Sachs to have a separate computer record system that was hidden from the Fed, SEC, and other bodies.
Everyone did something, if you choose to look hard enough. The point is it is being pushed by someone, and that someone would obviously be the republicans.
Anyhow, that new poll everyone is talking about has Clinton by far “most electable”. That’s what I’ve been saying, in the end she is the only “presidential” type of candidate.

I guess my whole problem with the Clinton email thing is, yes she stored emails on a private server. I personally dont give a shit. To be honest if you are in those positions you should expect that the Chinese & Russians are reading every fucking email you send anyway.
