Good news for anyone who wants to be aggressive in their studying… Schweser just sent an email out and you can sign up to recieve their first study book for L2 online untll the L1 results come out.
Its different. Its basically all regression and a ton of different statistical formulas relating to regression analysis. I went through it last month and it wasn’t all that bad, but there are no easy TVM questions like you get in L1 quant.
i feel 50/50 about it…i remembered some of the questions and i have written down that i have 26 questions wrong right off the bat. is anyone else keeping track like this? not rly helpful because you can’t do anything about it and you only worry more!

Quants and Economics are kind of straightforward for me, because I took Econometrics and Development Economics in my undergraduate days, and presently taking them both in my Part-time Msc Economics course… So Simple, Multiple Regression, Time Series, Theories of Growth, etc., are areas I am familiar with, thus making it a little easy for me to read and understand.
I passed courses and exams with linear regression so I already know for terms as heteroskedasticity, multicollinearity etc. , anyway I cannot prove that I am expert for this area. I will start preparing L2 ASAP if I pass L1. If not, I will start with L1 again. There is no need to hurry, I am only 40 on spring.
Hi all! I have been reading that apparently proctors can report you for CFA exam rules violation without you even being aware of that. Is it really true?
Is it possible to pass even you score 50-70% in three sections. I’m sure rest of the sections are fine. Just these 3 (Econ, FI, Quant)
I think that’s correct. Not even proctors, each candidate is encouraged to report any suspicous behaviour of another candidate.
@ atush I don’t think it really matters on how many sections you scored 50-70%, as long as your total score is making above the passing score.
So how and when do you find out if you were reported for any violation during the exam?

I know someone who passed with 8 sections between 50-70, 1 below 50 and 1 above 70. Moreover, his matrix isn’t even the worst i’ve seen for passing students
Wow! I think I did pretty well in FRA, derivatives, CF, Equity, and PM. Let’s see…
And I know a person who had FRA, Equity, FI, Quant, Derv, Eco above 70, Ethics, CF, Portfolio 50-70 and Alt below 50 and he failed.
You cannot until you get contacted by CFA Institute with PCP case open (approx. a month after exam but before results). Also given all posts of above nobody cannot be 100 % sure that will pass or someone can pass even if he expected failure. This is the beauty of examination. Consider it a part of folklore.
Talking about unintentional violations such as accidently looking somewhere else with no intentions of cheating can perhaps cause one to violate the standards is making me nervous. From time to time, I have a habit of just looking around … offcourse, I never looked at anyone’s exam but that’s not what the procter may think. Hopefully, I did not do such thing. I am not worried about the exam anymore but rather concerned about this lol. I was sitting in the first row with no one sitting beside me. But there was a candidate to the row left to me. I guess I will find out in a month or so.
I’ve had to rub my eyes a few times during the exam (especially in the PM session where I’m mentally burnt out and strained). I always looked up towards the ceiling when I did this in case a proctor suspected I was trying to cheat. But yeah, hopefully they don’t flag me…
