This is a really good question. The other dancers and I often discuss how the industry as a whole is in decline. It peaked in the early 90s and ever since the advent of the internet and the normalization of being a “stripper”, strip clubs have lost their edge when it comes to their ability to extract cash from the pockets of men. Sex is everywhere now. Internet porn, live webcams… what the heck, your girlfriend is getting pole dancing lessons so SHE can give you a lap dance. Strippers no longer have the market share or taboo cache they used to in the sex industry. Making over 100k a year for working 20 hours a week used to be the norm. Now you have to work 40 hours a week to make 70k.
