Super Happy Fun Hypotheticals

With all the ANAL-ysts on here who love to debate minutiae, i think some hypotheticals could stimulate some interesting conversation. I think try to keep it to no more than 1 per day.

I’ll start:

Could you win a 100 meter race with Usain Bolt if he had to wear clown shoes?

Answer: Yes

Bolt normally runs it in under 10 seconds. I think I can run it in probably 12 seconds. I’m betting clown shoes would add >2 seconds to Bolt’s best time.

Mr Turd Ferguson

Nope, my name real is bob, here’s a song about me. Now please keep to the topic at hand kind sir.

+1. Called this in the other thread as soon as there was a poor quality video of a youtube video.

That said, I assume Bolt would still whoop my ass. Hes the best in the world for a reason, plus clown shoes seem flexible when I see them on tv.

to be clear we’re talking big ass clown shoes like these:

Mr Turd , my dear sir friend. Your mindset & mental occupations give away your true identity. Thanks you.

with those clown shoes he’ll have to waddle like a duck

indeed. so the question becomes, are you faster than a waddling Usain Bolt?

Christopher Irmscher ran 100m hurdles (not sure why it was 100m instead of 110m) in 14.82 wearing swim fins. The world record for the 100m hurdles is 12.20 but is held by a woman since men run 110m (WR = 12.80). Assuming the same m/sec, that would equate to a 100m time of 11.64, so Mr. Imsher would be 3.18 seconds off WR pace while wearing swim fins. I couldn’t find a non-swim fin 100m hurdle time for him though, but OP’s thought that clown shoes would add 2 seconds to Bolt’s 100m time doesn’t seem unreasonable. Bolt’s WR is 9.58, but that was way back in 2009. His best time last year was 9.81. So, if someone can run 11.81 they would have a shot a winning.

hahaha higg you are quite an asset to the WC. Thank you for your research.

Last year was the 40th anniversary of the Montreal Olympic games and there were a bunch of events open to the public. I ran the 100 m in the 12.80s and was not even in the top 15 after the first 4 days. The event was still open for another week so I’m sure I fell further down the list. I’m not even a runner or sprinter but have way superior genes than the average man. Give me a month’s practice and I could definitely take on Bolt and his clown shoes.

i miss montreal. the poutine was to die for.

old montreal was beautiful

Especially beautiful this time of year.

Where you go for poutine?

i ordered it everywhere i went but the best one was here

oh man I love poutine

Haha i think it would add more than 2 sec

Hypothetical: with six months to practice could you hit a fair ball against an average major league pitcher in a normal at bat?

Answer for everyone on here: No.

FYI the average fastball in the MLB is around 92 mph currently.

Blake would not only hit a fair ball, he’d knock one out of the park.

Could I? Yes, but it would be luck and very unlikely.
