Ten things i hate about the CFA level 1

i’ve enrolled in level 1 twice but didn’t turn up. this week is the time i’m going to turn up! still hate telling people i’ve skipped two exams, esp those that are doing the chatered accountant. sorry that i can’t take a weeks plus leave for ONE subject and can only manage to get a day off. going crazy… brings me to the new one #26 having to talk to budding accountants that say they are doing it hard with a weeks study leave for one exam for cpa/chartered accounting, then saying that i’ll be fine for mine.

CAs are annoying too… whenever my accounting friends are together…thats all they talk about -_-

Listening to people who think there way to cool for starting something before us… Kind of like in elementary school when the grade 5’ thought they were cooler than the grade 2’s. You must be pretty successful to be wastin your time on here bud.

Haha school of fashion, haha! Nope, I am a Schulich engineer! You?

I attended about a total of 10-15 classes over the course of undergrad… Which is why i’m liking the teach yourself aspect of CFA

Wow, you must be a pretty smart guy to have done that

This list needed addtions 28 - That I am least likely to be able to NOT overstate the effect the CFA has had on me. 29 - That i know how to do complex lease calculations, diluted earnings per share, Bayss Theorem and f#@ing statistical testing yet I am not CERTAIN that IRFS requires a cash flow statement and a owners equity statement (based only on the fact that they asked the question - i went with yes, yes - seemed to simple). 30 - That I was worried when I got an answer that appeared in the multiple choice options for fear that they had planned it that way. 31 - That any reputable institute could actually allow an answer to be 20.5 and give 20 and 21 as multiple choice options (what are we testing here?) [n.b assumes i was not wrong on that question] 32 - That there were no hot proctors in Sydney. 33 - The word “proctor”.

34 - Explaining to people who ask “what does a CFA do” 35 - Correcting people who say “Certified” as opposed to “Chartered” because I know they don’t give a s@%$ but for some reason I correct them every time. 36 - Being asked “so like a CPA for finance?” 37 - feeling like no one outside of poeple who have taken the exam appreciate the comprehensiveness of the program 38 - someone may have mentioned this - waiting 6.5 years to get results

In fact, I had my friend (a law student) break me into her library. Everyone there has the utmost concentration. Makes me want to study more. When I’m at home I procrastinate like crazy and get nothing done…

Yeah I’m with you here, my parents keep doing the same thing…so annoying, and plus, I’ll inevitably feel like a total dumba** should I fail

Zero: 28 - That I am least likely to be able to NOT overstate the effect the CFA has had on me. That’s classic lol. In my head everytime I saw least likely I switched it to Most likely lol
