I finally got my results after returning to the office from a business trip. Passed!!! What a relief.
My wife had our second child ten days prior to the exam and on the night before the test she had complications from her C-section. At her request, I left the hospital and drove to the test center. The whole experience has been pretty remarkable.
Wow, congrats to you on your newborn and pass. Must be a huge relief. I’m single and have no kids and was feeling stressed as hell. I couldn’t even imagine what you were going through. Props to you.
Looking at other results , this seems to be an average score among the passed ones. By the way happy to clear all 3 in single attempts. All the best to the retakers next time.
rahuls - Would you know how respected is the charter in Mumbai, if I plan to come back with the “CFA” after my name - is it easy to break in the Investment Banking / Equity Research industry ?
CFA is well respected & renowned in India. Undoubtedly, it could get you to interviewee’s seat of almost all top IB/ER companies. From there it’s totally depends on how much you know & able to impress interviewers. A lot depends upon your previous experiences. Most of IB/PE/ER companies prefer to hire through campus placement from top-elite B-schools since there are not much of CFAs in India. Till few years ago, much of the hype of CFA (US) candidates was shared by the CFA from ICFAI. But now it’s well distinguished & perhaps retains it’s vital importance in the industry like elsewhere.
If you are talking about entry level IB/ER jobs, you surely are the best contender. However, I assume you are an experienced guy, lot would depend on previous work experience & credentials.
To tell a bit about mine case, neither I have not done any full-time MBA course nor having core ER/IB experience. I have worked mainly as a Corporate Financial Analyst so far. So I am still in the stage where I could comprehend as to how well these 3 words could work out the best for me.
