Somebody at Fifa just needs to grow a pair and pull the plug on Russia and Qatar as hosts and give it to someone that a) has some sort of football history, b) has the infrastructure and c) where it isn’t fucking 40 degrees.
having said that, I may come round to the idea of the Qatar world cup, direct 6 hour flight from where I am. Might make a punt that I’ll be better off by 2022 and book some ridiculous hotel.
I was smuggly going through this list thinking I knew it all until I read the last point and realised it was so totally wrong that the rest of the list must also be bullshit.
I hate to think what fee Messi would go for, £200m release clause apparently. Crazy to think he’s still only 27.
I would bet that it would be Bayern with Pep but he may want to go to a more competitive league and then the only option is the Premier League. Article says PSG bid last year and he considered it but can you imagine the best player that has ever lived playing in the fucking French league?
But then, I can’t imagine him at a club with no history like Chelsea or Man City. Arsenal and Man Utd don’t look like they’re going to be challenging for a few years so would he go to either of them? Could they afford £200m and £300k a week?
Bayern-City has to be the best game today, but City is missing Silva, who is oddly their only creative player unlike all the other big teams, which seem to have 3-4 No.10’s.
Isildurr, are you following ISL? I thought it was going to be a disaster, but it looks like there’s quite a large following now, they’ve learned from the MLS, which has been pretty succesful.
