Anybody watching Kaine vs. Pence tonight?
^ OMG, after only a few minutes I’m calling it:
Kaine is going to DESTROY this guy. He’s a natural, Pence is really uncomfortable and cheesy.
Highlights :
- Pence says “we’re going to do it just like the 80s, spend now, pay back the debt AFTER the gdp growth gets back to 4%” (which will be never).
- Kaine, as I suspected is not a smiling “nice guy”, he’s a blood thirsty killer on the inside. However, I would have gone with an off-white shirt, very nice red textured tie, but white is too hard.
- On one hand Kaine goes on and on with “over the top” attacks on Trump, and yet, Trump actually said/did those things.
- Pence admits Russia is stronger than American, “stronger on the world stage”, but by spending trillions maybe American can get back in the game. Except being bankrupt is exactly why they are no longer in the game, and why Putin can do whatever he wants.
Something is wrong with the system when you have Clinton/Trump on top of the ticket and these 2 bright VP candidates on the bottom.
I don’t disagree with you at all. I may not agree with Pence’s social views, but he is an infinitely better option than Trump. Hell I’d prefer Kaine to Hillary, not that it is saying much.
Why those two parties couldn’t find any better candidates is also mind boggling. Then you have the libertarian party which for the first time in decades has an opening, and while Gary Johnson seems like he’d be a decent candidate, just screws up at nearly public opportunity.
That thought did cross my mind on Kaine, he would be okay as president perhaps…but realistically he is a 4 on experience and Clinton is an 11. These two guys are small time newbies. There’s simply no more qualified person on the planet than Clinton, she is it, period.
As for Trump, sure Pence is better, he’s got zero charisma, but at least he’s not a mentally ill dictator.

They’re not really Democrats anymore. Hillary has moved so far to the right and picked up on the Republican love of corporate campaign contributions. She’s basically G H W Bush. And maybe she’ll want to invade Russia, too.

The big thing the debate illustrated – Trump’s actions/words are indefensible…so of course the sane Pence won’t even try to defend them…so what the hell is he doing supporting the guy??

I’m shocked most polls show that Pence won. Admittedly, Kaine was over-rehearsed and kept interrupting, but I thought he actually answered the questions asked (Pence had no answer whatsoever for how to combat home-grown terrorism and avoided the question twice) and Kaine destroyed Pence on abortion at the very end. Perhaps it’s just my left leaning bias. I just don’t understand how Republicans can defend a pro-life stance - “gov’t is too big, less regulation, blahblahblah, oh except when it comes to decisions regarding your own body.” I thought the constitution is gospel to these guys? What happened to the separation of church and state? Pence freely admitted his religious views guide him to a pro-life stance…

Yeah, it’s a little peculiar seeing those numbers this morning. But big picture, he lost. He had to turn things around for Trump, and he didn’t (polls show zero vote changing), he was on the defense the whole time, yet of course couldn’t defend the indefensible. Kaine had him checkmate from the start.
All Pence showed was that “I’m calm under fire, not crazy like Trump”. Mmmk, that’s nice, but you just admitted even you believe Trump is crazy.
While I personally propose a one year trial period, meaning constitutional protections are not granted until one’s first birthday, I have no issue understanding that if someone believes life begins at time before me that they might have a problem with letting people kill the unborn. What’s the hang up? Hypocrisy on both sides. Even pro-lifers don’t think a women should be charged with manslaughter if her negligence causes the unborn to die in her womb. Pro-abortion people don’t seem to understand that if it’s your choice, it’s your responsibility.
Why? What’s wrong with doing this?
As I’m pro-aborting many of the living, I have to agree with Palantir here.
So when should a human life get constitutional protection? When the head pops out. Feet if it’s breach? Or does the whole body have to be out? Some say when brain activity starts. Others conception, which is really strange to me. The body aborts all sorts of zygotes because they’re messed up genetically. Shouldn’t we help the body when it makes a mistake?
