My in-laws hunt elk, deer, etc…that’s pretty much all the meat they use except for some beef to mix things up. The problem going all elk or bison is they’re low in fat. That sounds like a good thing, but you’ll actually have to go out of your way to get some healthy fat into your diet if you really go this route.
I highly recommend a bison burger with an egg on top. Damn tasty.
I think humans dont have a consistent taste, since we eat so many different food and such a wide range in comparrison with say pigs.So you could have a sour human meat and a sweet one IMHO
I would like to hunt a deer and eat it. I have skinned and chopped a deer up before…but killing one and eating would be pretty cool.
I would like to rear 2 turkey’s next year…get them whilst they’re very small and feed them up over autumn and then halal them for christmas bin laden style. Turkey curry gotta taste good for xmas (or thanksgiving) surely?
When our younger son was about 6 years old he observes that people’s taste buds are different from dogs’ taste buds because, if they weren’t, we would like the taste of dog food.
How do you know you don’t like the taste of dog food? Some people told me it actually tasted not bad (fraternity hazing ritual… long story). Cat food tastes bad though. Cats cannot taste some things that we can.
Cat food is shit. But my dogs eats anything that I eat, including kit kats, coco nuts pretty much anything I eat.I am very skeptical of pet food, the industry remains highly unregulated compared to human food.Cats are different, never owned a cat though.
As a side note I once met a local villager(peasent) who fed his 2 dogs(local breed)honey since his core business was producing honey and he lacked the resources to feed them anything else.It amazed me how dogs with those sets of teeth managed to eat honey.I remember he put stale bread in the honey to harden the mixture giving the dogs something to chew on,the poor dogs were kept hungry most of the time.
I have also witnessed farmers feeding their dogs some opium poppy to reduce their hositility.
Right, depending on when you shoot the animal, it could appear to have quite low body fat. But this is because Westerners throw away the organs and bone marrow (the nutritious parts). If you add in ALL fat available on the animal, it is actually fairly high even when lean.
