watches

i kinda want a bretiling but those suckers are too much

Japan definitely has a huge market for luxury products and 2nd hand luxury products, so these chain stores specialize on these items have years of experience and very good reputation - at least for over a decade i rarely hear any controversy with them. And if anything goes, they have multiple outlets and it’s unlikely to disappear overnight.

Having said that, i would only buy 2nd hand if it’s somethign i really love but it’s already discontinued.

I am the type of person that, if i want to buy a chanel bag, i go to chanel, i don’t try to save a few bucks looking for it online. if i don’t have the money in the first place, i just don’t buy it at all.

I think I agree with nana on this. I like the peace of mind of the manufacturers warranty. I imagine it will help resale value and for something like a Rolex that holds value well, the high price is not much of a determining factor. The rental rate (price - resale) is probably a little lower on a higher priced AD certified rolex compared to a gray market one.

I am very indifferent to women with luxury watches. I dated a woman out here who had a quartz Cartier but her family were jewelers. BUT this Rolex is simple, elegant, and classic so IF a woman wanted a designer watch I would say it is a good selection.

Out of remorse since I have two expensive watches, I recently asked my wife if she wanted a real watch. Luckily she hates any form of expensive jewelry—except her wedding and engagement rings----because she’s prone to lose it. She also said that I was crazy for having a Rolex.

Better for me.

Do you guys think this watch is a legit Omega?

bump,

what about the Hamilton Jazzmaster H32515555.

looks pretty sweet and under $500

I think if you are going Hamilton, go for the field watch type, like Matthew McConnaughey has in Interstellar. That’s the quintissential type of Hamilton watch. The other kinds are probably pretty good too and probably have the same ETA movement as some Omega watches. However, extra pretentious people might point to the styling as being derivative. I’m not saying that you necessarily should care about what these other people think, but any watch that costs more than say $200 is for appearances.

I just got a hamilton jazzmaster viewmatic, it’s awesome, just the right size, weight and thickness. Does not look pretentious yet classy.

This is my new watch. Fk Rolex!

What kinda deal did you get on that? Would it blow us away?

LOL comes with a free trip to the White House.

Talbot says an expert view of Mohamed’s clock makes it very clear what the Texas high-school student did.

“What this is is a commercial alarm clock, as you would purchase in any department store and use at your bedside,” Talbot explained. “All he did was remove the plastic case from the alarm clock. This is not an invention. This is not something that someone built or even assembled.”

He then lists several reasons for his conclusion.

“If someone had really made a clock, this circuitry would not look like this. First of all, this transformer is for a 120 volt line. People who do ‘maker’ things do not tend to use AC power because it’s a bit more dangerous and there’s no reason to do it. You can use batteries,” Talbot said.

Shit i dont care… kid still put it together. I couldnt do that.

Kid was trolling.

I’m good with my cheap Seiko. Expensive watches aren’t really my personality.

Hammy is a pretty good entry level watch. That one will pass as a big boy watch. My advice on luxury watches is – be careful. It’s easy to get hooked on wanting every nice watch or new model you see. It be like crack.

I really wonder what would happen if CFAvMBA wore Ahmed’s clock around his neck to the office. Does he get an invite to the white house or gitmo?

the wifey has a $14K Blancpain, im fine with this $400 watch to tell you the truth.
