HOLY FUCK!

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTf7tKuCASo]

Over a year of this. So many plausible routes this could take.

Mind - Blown, BUT that assumes Delos can actually control hosts, and that yet to be seen

Ford does make the comment that Mozark “became the music”, which some have taken as he became a host.

^that line stuck out to me. I think his use of the example may also indicate Ford’s understanding of higher levels of consciousness. At higher levels the egoic self disappears and the self is completely absorbed in the action. It is said that a person becomes the action at this level of effortless perfection. Maybe that is his hope for the bots since it so rare and seemingly unattainable by the flesh bags.

That could tie into the Arnold is Ford’s creation story. Ford created Benard, who is a robot version of Arnold. But Arnold is not real, he is Ford’s idealized version of himself that he never achieved in real life (a brilliant creator AND loving father). Now Bernard can achieve what Ford, in his flawed humanness, could not.

No need to watch, folks. I figured it out.

Why do you think “Arnold” is making the code changes and not Bernard? Also that video is crazy!

Also, I just remembered Dolores talking to herself telling Arnold that Ford doesn’t know. Perhaps Arnold symbolizes an ideal form, since I think we learned that it was always her and not Arnold talking to her.

Pretty sure Arnold did exist. Logan mentions a “partner” working with Ford to William when they first entered the park.

Arnold wrote the code that allowed Dolores (and other hosts) to become self-aware. It was up the the hosts to embrace their consciousness without going insane. Dolores was the only one able to do so, hence she won the game.

Edit: Also note that Maeze didn’t win the game…she did exactly what she was programmed by Ford to do. Distract Delos security while the hosts in cold storage go on a killing spree.

But there was another person in the picture who was not Ford and not Bern-arnold. So if Arnold never existed, Logan could just be talking about that other guy. Do we know anything about that person?

I thought it was Ford’s ‘reverie code’ that started triggering memories from previous loops (also I think the “violent delights” quote is like a back door trigger in the programming that Ford created. Hosts who hear this phrase start remembering).

There are some early interactions between Delores and Bern-arnold that appear to be secret meetings that Ford is unaware of, but maybe that is really Bernard doing Ford’s bidding? We don’t really know when those interactions took place. Maybe Ford set those up through Bernard to help Delores along in reaching self-awareness.

Who fucking knows. Maybe it’s time to get back to Wikileaks conspiracy theories.

EDIT: now i’m remembering that in those interactions between Bern-arnold and delores, Bern-arnold is coaching delores on how to respond to questions from QA that would clear her to return to rotation when QA was doing the reverie recall. That makes me think it’s actually Ford (via Bernard) helping Delores get through the reverie recall.

^I’m pretty sure there was an actual Arnold. The meetings with Dolores were with the human Arnold. He dresses differently and, one very sad give-away, when Ford has Bernard shoot himself in the head down in cold storage, the last thing Bernard says is “Robert” in Arnold’s voice.

Just noticed at the end of episode 8, when Ford calms down Maeve, what he does is install “music” (calm the savage beast maybe?).

I can’t help wonder if there is a connection to the comment that Mozart, Chopin, and Schubert (or whichever composers he listed) became music… maybe Ford’s presence is in fact music that the hosts start to hear…

ok im going to start posting spoilers b4 the episode airs

???

What I posted is only a spoiler if you are three or four weeks behind schedule. Moreover, the rest of the stuff I said is cryptic enough that it doesn’t reveal anything important that wasn’t already discussed earlier.

i’m rewatching the whole season and I’m seeing more clues that Arnold never existed. When Ford sits down with delores (ep. 4 or 5) he asks her if she remembers ‘the old him’. she says ‘no’ and he then asks if she remembers arnold and she says yes. i think Ford programmed arnold into her memory. the interactions between delores and arnold could have been programmed into her memory (which is what we are seeing) and not actually happened. this makes sense from Ford’s perspective. he doesn’t want the awakening bots to associate their awakening with Ford because it could get out that Ford is behind it.

Hmm… that would then explain why no one working at WestWorld recognizes Bernard as Arnold. If Arnold were real, presumably he would be somewhat famous as the co-developer of WestWorld. The way Steve Wozniak and Guy Kawasaki are geek-famous, even if they were ultimately outshined by Steve Jobs.

Interesting compilation (only click if caught up) v

ahhh so the third dude in the old picture is Ford’s dad. Looking more and more like Ford’s familial issues gave birth to the Arnold narrative. Also in the picture of all three of them, Bern-arnold is in the attire associated with Bernard. All fitting into place now.

^ where is the links to your theory about Arnold never existing and charlotte being Ford’s daughter? That all seems very far-fetched to me.

i’ve seen each of them mentioned in passing on a youtube video but not given much consideration and dismissed as far-fetched. i think it makes good sense. i’d be willing to bet there are some past familial issues for Ford that will come to light at some point.

I passed the bread section in the supermarket today and as I saw the Arnold brand whole grain bread, a voice told me to buy it. But I decided to stay in my loop and continue on to the fresh fruits section.

doesn’t look like anything to me.
