If you think AF is rough I would think twice before posting an opinion on reddit. The whole place is a troll dungeon.
My understanding from limited use is that various subreddits vary dramatically. The westworld one isn’t that bad
Reddit as a whole is a joke and a troll-fest. Imagine neckbeards from suburban American gone wild and that’s exactly what it is x1000.
There was a post about something in Zimbabwe and the top comment was some buffoon’s interpretation about it while being from Wisconsin or some such shithole with fellow neckbeards upvoting him saying it was excellent when it was Rhodesia with Whites in charge while an actual Zimbabweans insight which was interesting was somewhere hidden and being downvoted by spambots.
Then you have gems like The_Donald which will instantly ban you if you question anything at the same time lampooning mods who had to delete posts because it had crossed the line from constructive debate to hate speech.
Fuck that noise.
Again, those sound like an issue with particular subreddits. Not the entire site
No, /r/westworld and /r/asoiaf are exactly like /r/watchpeopledie. It’s all on reddit so it must all be the exact same.
If only AF had a down vote system like reddit where you could bury the troll garbage.

The problem is with continuity within a thread and the small size of the community. If someone responds to a troll comment which has been hidden due to downvotes that would be confusing but you could remedy that by just having the comment collapsed. However, what is to stop a troll from making a ton of accounts and up/down vote spamming.
