In the last remnants of my humanity… I do wonder what has become of the Black Swan… I met him and a school friend of him on a rainy day… we drank a lot of whiskey… shot some pool… he’s a stocky guy and a stand up gentleman… I hope he’s okay…
Last time we heard from BS he got off of Propecia, shaved his head, and “became alpha.”
Although I believe the influx of lame posters such as Greenman72 and krnyc and ridiculous topics that have to do with fapping have something to do with it.
Last I remember people were claiming he wasnt being fair with posts he nuked…I remember asking him why he nuked one of mine and he responded politely and that was that…but then it turned into a huge thing with other peeps…so he resigned his post as moderator and his participation has declined since.
I don’t think that was the thread. I can’t find it (damn you search function) but it was really just a flame war with another poster. It got a little…unbecoming of a mod. He resigned and is taking a break. Dollars to donuts he’ll be back soon enough.
In order to be fair, I kinda have to agree with him. 30 pages worth of jerkin’ the gherkin’ is a little much, especially for a website that is (in theory) dedicated to the sharing of ideas and experiences for the future financial analysts of the world.
And just because he’s a moderator doesn’t mean he can’t express his opinions. He’s not a judge or a Senator or something. He just deletes posts that cross a line. And IMHO, a lot of the posts (even the ones that don’t get deleted) go too far. (Some of mine, included.)
At any rate, I miss him. I think he definitely added something to the board. It’s kinda like Alladin. When he stopped posting, AF just wasn’t quite the same.
But on the other side, Alladin and Bromion are back. (As well as Stormy)
Yeah, hope he comes back. We should probably search for a new member to replace him. Chad asked me about that and I never got back to him: partly because I got distracted and partly because when I came back to the topic, I was curious how things would look without his involvement. Glad to see that his presence was valued, given all the crap that people threw at him.
i thought he did a good and conscientious job. I tend to do things more quietly; I am glad he was more confrontational, when it was necessary.
