Presumably there would be some kind of election, subject to approval or veto by Chad or me which would be to prevent it from being a just popularity contest. People with opinions are fine, but one doesn’t want people who would clearly abuse the power to edit and nuke and ban (or suggest banning) people. I doubt many people would be vetoed if chosen, but Chad as the site owner should have that reserve power, and presumably I (or existing board members, in future contexts) would have some input on whether he exercises it.

Also, I think this place lost a lot of posters, esp when the site changed from Back Office to water cooler. I think if you looked at the top 10 posters, most of them dont post anymore.

You didn’t lose your alias. The site became less functional and more aesthetic. This lost a lot of people.

that’s not what i’m saying. i’m saying a bunch of people abandoned their old aliases and signed up new ones as if they’re newbies. maybe total traffic is down, but i think there are probably some people who never left, they just use a different alias.

AF V1.0 looked better IMO, but you can’t say it had more functionality. We couldn’t even link to another page back then, and especially couldn’t embed images and videos. I’ll take that for the less pleasing (way too much white) look of AF V2.0.

several people had the admin’s change user names, but everything else is the same and people know who is who.

I don’t know of any veteran user that made a completely new account and just started posting.
