yeah obv you’re very smart. physics PhD is like the hardest you can get. you’re a relatively new candidate for L3 since you passed 1 and 2 on your first try and this was your first time taking L3. i hope your box disappears v soon
Thanks. I seriously doubt if the box really means anything though. Even if they eventually do, I would say it’s only the case on the day before the release of results.
Until a 2- taker has two boxes (after applying and withdrawn it) and first time taker has 1 box (after applying and withdrawing) then it will be interesting.
i simply cannot believe that all the first time takers failed and all the 2nd time taker pass
Second time taking exam from 2015. Still see two boxes, “Apply for Scholarship 2018” and “Manage Applications”. Coworker sees same thing as me and is a first time taker. Don’t think it means anything this far out. I left a question blank and four subsections, but feel good with all others I answered. Coworker feels ok in terms of exam as well, but in any case we’ll find out soon.
Log in to your account on CFAI website, then from the top right corner:
Your Account -> Your Program
Now you should see two boxes under “Your Program”: one saying “Your CFA@ Program” and the other saying “Access Scholarship”.
Go to “Manage your scholarship application” in box “Access Scholarship” and start a new application, but click “save for later” in the first step and then withdraw. Then log out and log back in, go to Your Account -> Your Program again and see if you still have 2 boxes or the box with “Access Scholarship” has disappeared. If you still see 2, you are a 2-boxer, otherwise you are a 1-boxer.
Personally I don’t really believe this means anything though.
I guess there are two things that are somewhat resembling of last year’s tell
it’s still circling around this scholarship concept.
between the message of “you are not eligible for the access scholarship” and there not having a link where you can click on to apply for the scholarship kind of gets to the same point that you can’t continue with the scholarship.
Other than that, I’m not sure how this could be a tell. But who knows right. Seems like the 2 box side seems to be a lot more confident than the 1 box side. So maybe it’s better to be in the 2 box category? I don’t know.
There are potential explanations as to why passing candidates would have two boxes instead of one, versus the current theory that 1 box means you passed:
Ex: The programming in the website that edits and updates scholarship applications may only be active for those who will be eligible to apply for a scholarship next year. So, if you failed, the mechanism which withdraws and updates an active application still works. If you passed, and won’t be eligible, the programming that updates the scholarship management portal is basically inactive at this point.
Disclosure: I show two boxes. Fairly confident but not overly. And I have little confidence that this is a true tell, but there are scenarios where 2 boxes could mean pass. Just stirring the pot after a LONG time lurking
