“Why the heck is this topic so popular?” For the same reason your response is four paragraph long…
LOL…good point!
It’s also a lot better than the topic about signing up for doostang.
I didn’t have the time to read the posts yet, but I lift close to 5 hours a week and don’t know how anyone in finance who works 11+ hours can do more than that.
zigy, rowing is great. i was smart about it though, i started rowing twice a week about 7 months ago: 10 min sprint once a week and rowing for 40 min the second time. unfortunately i had to stop because of knots in my back. they still bother me even though I stopped rowing three months ago.

At first it was kind of a pain in the arse, but after a while you get used to it. I also sleep at least 6 - 7 hrs a night. I can’t imagine living off of virtually not sleep like some others on the board. I am just not built for that…

I am just not built for that… I eat whenever I am hungry, try to go for whole grain, organic, fresh etc stuff, have been a veggie since 1987

maratikus: Sorry to hear that. Some of my teammates are still bothered by hernia. I, myself, had problem with back muscle. That said, done properly, it is one of the best thing you can do to burn calories. Hope you can come back to it. I would do recreational rowing since I live in city by the lake, but I would rather play softball in summer and skate in winter. Bambi: What are you Silken Laumann? (I know you are not…You are not Canadian…) Impressive record!!
that’s very impressive, Bambi. did you have any back problems?
91 posts in 4 hours! Nice job TPain88. Not easy to do! Obviously not alot of candidates back to fighting shape after the June exam.
Exercise is one of the essential pieces of the puzzle and is frequently neglected. Let’s face it, it’s hard to find time to hit the gym when you’re working even 40+hours per week. I used to compete in eco-challenge races and was an ultra runner (completed 50 mile races) before I started nearing the end of my undergraduate tenure. That all went down hill when I started working. Now after sitting in a cubicle in front of a computer, I’m 5’11" and weigh 350+ pounds…just kidding. I’m certainly not in the shape I was in a few years ago though. To make a long story short, work out and eat healthy and then you will have better earnings estimates, get 2x more raises, date hot supermodels, and probably die in the shower after you slip and hit your head.

This is the only thing Analystforum members should do in the shower: Author: ralphmacchio Date: Friday, May 6 2004 @ 2:36 pm I have a morning ritual that I go through before every big exam. I call it “The Terminator”. First, I crouch down in the shower in the classic “naked terminator traveling through time” pose. With my eyes closed I crouch there for a minute, visualizing either Arnold or the guy from the second movie (not the chick in the third one because that one sucked) and I start to hum the terminator theme. Then I slowly rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me to proceed to the exam as an emotionless, cyborg badass. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It ruins the fantasy.

I wish! no I stopped before become are real senior - just my French medals (=host country) were in the SEF (senior female > 23 year) category rest was either junior, senior B (<23years) or leightweight category never experienced any back probs despite starting very tough training (incl weight training) at the age of 13 actually started rowing because I had back probs (did grow to fast) at the age of 12 now years later i make sure to swim twice a week to maintain my upper body muscles, despite long hours at my desk no sore back
Tae Kwon Do training four nights per week. Beer curles, couch squats (sp?), and television remote presses 3 nights per week.
I think if I lived near a lake I would definitely do club crew… thought if I ever moved to Tampa, I would sign up for it the day I moved! Didn’t do it competitively in college, but it was fun and I was in the best shape of my life!
