Unbelievably happy to be able to say PASSED! I actually screamed when I opened the email (I am not a scream when excited kind of person)j, then I couldn’t stop laughing like a lunatic. The pressure of this exam really in crazy!

Sincere congrats to all of those who passed. For those who didn’t make it this time, I truly feel your pain - this was second attempt for me. Failing sucks, but retaking is not so bad. I can honestly say I learned a lot more the second time around and felt like I had a much, much better grasp of most (though not all - **** you, derivatives!) concepts. It’s definitely worth it to take another go.

I passed level 1 in December 2015 and now passed level 2:-) I am so excited and also completed MSc in Finance and Investments:-) Will start job hunt from September and now traveling around. Ones who failed please keep trying and congrats to the ones who passed:-) Keep rolling!!!

Wow! What an exhilarating feeling. THIS is why we put in countless hours of work and lose even more hours of sleep: to be able to say that we accomplished something special. Congratulations to everyone who passed, and for those who didn’t, just keep working away. The end result will be worth it!

I passed today as well. My results are as follows:

Alt, derivatives, portfolio management, economics: <50

Quant: 51-70

Ethics, equity, FRA, fixed income and corporate finance: >70

Failed, Band 3. Quant/Econ/FRA/AI/Der - <50, everything else 50-70. Nothing >70.

I passed Level 1 in December and frankly didn’t put in the hours because of work commitments. I guess I’d be a little more bummed if I put in the requisite # of hours. I know some of you passed L2 after doing L1 in December, but for me that was a tall order.

In a sick way, I’m happy I didn’t pass since I didn’t really know the material. I decided to do the CFA to enhance my finance background. The credential doesn’t mean nearly as much as the education does. So, I have 10 months or so to go through everything and learn it properly this time.

That being said, I am really ready to jump back in the material. I have a baby on the way due September and a busy 9 months ahead of me with work and other commitments. I’m going to get started now - does anyone have any tips on how to make sure the material stays “fresh” over that time? I’m going to do questions in all sections over that time so hopefully that will counteract the length of time. Any other suggestions?

For my L1 I never received any email, looked everywhere including junk and spam folders and gave up eventually after 24 hours and obtained my results by calling CFAI.

Passed. Quant <50 FRA,EQ,CF 50-70 Passed level 1 in Dec and started L2 prep in may

Passed.

All >70%

50-70 for FRA + Ethics

First attempt. Felt super confident except Ethics but guess I overestimated my ability in FRA>

Passed, first attempt!

51-70% in Alt Investments, Corp Fin, and Ethics

> 70% in everything else

Fail, band 10.

Alternative Investments (18): <=50% Corporate Finance (36): >70% Derivatives (36): <=50% Economics (36): 51-70% Equity Investments (54): 51-70% Ethical & Professional Standards (36): 51-70% Financial Reporting & Analysis (72): 51-70% Fixed Income Investments (36): 51-70% Portfolio Management (18): >70% Quantitative Methods (18): >70%

Cannot believe I passed. I did L1 in December, and given my lengthy commutes and work, I was 90% certain that I did not study enough and failed. This is a miracle.

Portfolio Mgmt: <50%

Alt Investments, Corp Fin, and Quant: 51%-70%

Everything else: >70%

band 9 my matrix weight is very similar to Moey (band 10) at post # 251. Both of us do not have large weights scoring > 70% but we do not have large weights scoring <= 50% either. Our matrix looks look only a little worse than the following passers but our other areas look better.

Post #137 technicalPOV, #184 mingmei and #185 Sam all passed.

My matrix

<= 50% Alternative & Ethics – 54 points

> 70% Corporate & Derivative – 72 points

all else between 50% and 70% – 234 points

Passed:)

<50%: Portfolio Management

50% - 70%: Ethics and Corp Fin

>70%: All others

The bands show how one performed relative to others who also failed. 10 = highest bracket (almost passed)

I got my first baby on the way in September too! Let’s hope the babies bring us luck for level 2 next June =)

Exact same schedule as you – feels **** good doesn’t it!

TommyJohn, rexthedog, keep your head up. Enjoy the rest of summer and by winter, hit the books hard and smash it next year! Congrats krokodilizm and Flashback. Thanks all for your contributions.

<50%: Portfolio Mgmt >70%: Alternative, Equity, Ethics, FRA, Fixed Income 50-70%: Finance, Derivatives, Economics, Quant To everyone out there that didn’t make the cut, keep at it! Don’t give up! Be persistent and come out hungrier next year! MOCKS MOCKS MOCKS and allow yourself time to figure out the difficult topics!

Last year, I made the same mistake of taking the L2 exam after passing L1 in December. Moreover, because of the restricted time frames I entirely relied on schweser (since it’s less “massive”), not curriculum - I ended up in band 3. I passed this year, so Don’t get frustrated! Start early, don’t ignore curriculum and you’ll be all right!

Pass!

>70% in 7 subjects

50-70% in rest

Moey, you were probably within one point of passing.

Failed band 9. Considering that I passed L1 in december and I started to study only in march (approx 200hours) it’s not too bad but it’s frustrating since on the mocks I was scoring around 65% and I scored bad in quant which is one of my strength (I am an engineer).

Here my matrix, which to be honest it doesn’t seems to be worse than some pass matrices that I’ve seen on the forum.

Any suggestion?

This is so brutal. We both missed it by like 1 mark…
