38/60 in the afternoon with a few of the wrong ones being in the errata.
I actually took it on April 8.
For the online sample exams that cost $40 I got 69% on the first one and then 63% on the second one. I feel decently OK about those results given that they didn’t ask really any equity questions and the FRA questions were harder than they typically put on the exams.
I’m pretty much always above 70% on Schweser mocks, but I don’t count those anymore since I am a multiple times retaker and can remember the tricks used on the questions and can solve them.
Now I’m just reworking EOC questions, will retake the 2013 mock, take the 2012 and 2011 mock at some point and keep my fingers crossed that my memory retention will be better than it was the last two years.
Yes, I would recommend them over the prep notes providers. I can’t speak to Elan, but the samples are written much more similarly to the CFAI mocks and the actual exam than Schweser.
Yes a agree the PM was definitely more difficult. That derivatives section was ridiculous. Overall, have to be pleased with this. Now just isolating my weak areas.
gringo_bob, I’m interested because I dont know anybody else sitting for L2 this year, are those people scoring in the 50’s at your office people sitting this year? I have no feel for the general L2 population because my only exposure to L2 candidates is on here. One other guy at my office is sitting for the exams this year and he’s at L1.
I guess what I’m asking, for anyone who wants to answer, is what the hell is the NORMAL L2 candidate like? I’ve gotta think AF members are, on average, a little nuts about this stuff.
Just sat through the 2013 CFAI Mock, tried to replicate real test situation as much as I could.
AM: 41/60
PM 40/60
Overall 81/120, 67.5%
I thought the AM session was very tough, either I was not up to it or a few of the vignettes took really long to solve. Spent much more than 18 minutes on four of the vignettes.
I felt better during the PM session, but of everything I thought Ethics part was tricky (2/6), haven’t been focusing too much there so maybe a few points to pick up there during the coming week.
From the scores posted on here this looks like a tough mock, and i’m definitely not as stressed about having not hit 70% as I thought I would - that was my target.
But plenty more time left to study, it’s crunch time now…
Yeah, there are quite a few people I know at work and at competitors that are sitting level 2 this year and not one of them has scored over 60 in the mock so I’m pretty sure that it’s a very tough paper and the analyst forum scores aren’t representative of the entire population.
Either that or i’m just trying to make myself feel better about getting under 70%.
Wow Vicky I remember you destroying the level 1 material. Your lack of confidence has shaken me.
My I got got 64% as well and many of the regulars around here seem to be in that range. I get the impression that it is not the worst score going around. I was down on my mock score for a day or two, but it is a gift to hit some adversity, it sharpens your focus and ignites your drive.
I sat the 2013 CFAI mock today. I couldn’t put it off any longer, despite my best efforts.
I scored 69% overall. I got 75% in a.m but only 63% in p.m.
Overall, ethics was easy I thought. FRA was tough. Derivatives in p.m. was really tough.
Overall, I am relatively happy wih the mark. I would hope it would pass in the exam. All I can do now is keep everything fresh and identify and remedy errors made on this exam.
