I am dead serious. He is a proud guy who must be on top all the time. Anyway, I cannot really be bothered. I earned it and should flaunt it.

I logged into the CFA website and finally have CFA after my name

Awesome!!!

Did you ever ended up posting the letters? How did the boss take it. If he never even cleared level 1, it’s not like he was even close to be bitter at yah.

Congrats ladies and gents!

I put it up there, used it for a day, and later went to meet him saying that I am considering removing it. He said that I better leave it there, that it is more than most qualifications.

OK…when do we get the physical certificate???

That’s good. You earned it, you got the right to flaunt it.

I emailed CFAI about 10 days ago. They said the actual certificate would be mailed in December to the address registered on the account, but I could use the letters after the website was updated

I have a similar issue, my direct boss has been trying to sit for level 1 for ages and has never found the time. I joined the company in February and have worked like 12+ hours since and I still managed to study for level 3 that I successfully passed. So I am sure he feels a bit down because I managed and not him, on the other hand I had a discussion with him and found out that my success had given him the motivation to try his best for December’s L1 exam. This CFA program takes a whole lot of time, as you know, and many people don’t succeed because of lack of time and not lack of intellect.

The value of earning the charter goes far beyond your direct boss’ feelings or behaviour and I think you should be really proud and communicate it by putting those letters after your name in your email signature. And it can also give others motivation, even if they don’t show it.

Thank you everyone for the advise.

December? Why so late? Anyone else get this response?

I have the letters on the website, but still no email.

I know my local society is doing the charter award ceremony sometime in November. From what I’ve heard, you get a physical copy if you attend. Whether or not you attend, CFAI will also mail you a copy at some point after that, so December makes sense.

congrats ladies and probably mostly gentlemen!!!

i am in no hurry to become a charterholder, lol, but i can share the excitement!
