Only a few.” In Beruit, Tripoli, Benghazi, Cairo, Sudan, Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Fort Hood, it’s always a few. At what point do we stop making excuses and just call a spade a spade. This isn’t a few, it’s all of them, whether they participate or not, they stand by and encourage the culture. In places like ancient Mongolia, modern tribal Pakistan, or Yemen, nobody sits around and worries much about what is justified. These people just want YOU to lose and die. They don’t buy into that comparative advantage bullshit. They don’t buy civilization as a concept. Hell, they don’t even have much use for money. They just want to win and for you to lose.

Anyhow, thinking about it. Maybe the thing to do is just desensitize Muslims to the portrayal of Mohammed. Perhaps the US should name Tuesday’s national draw Mohammed day when everyone in the country is encouraged to draw a picture of Mohammed. I wonder how long it would take until nobody cared.

That honestly might be the right way to go about it. The whole problem with this Islam-thing is that we give it far too much respect in the West. We really treat these people with kid gloves thanks to our liberalness. When you go around censoring yourselves on their behalf, all you really do is help them enforce their beliefs that their Prophet really is so sacred. We need to take the magic and power out of Islam. Then it would have no teeth. The Catholic church accidentally did this to itself in the 1960s with its Vatican 2.0 thing. Suddenly, masses were conducted in your native language, not Latin, and you could actually listen to the BS the Preist were saying. The whole thing really just started to seem silly without all the dogma to believe in. It didn’t sound sacred and special anymore. What the islamic world needs is just a massive secular education movement where we (secularists) basically systematically show these beliefs to be false and don’t treat Islam like it’s more holy than any other bs religion. One where leaders just flat out call Islam what it is: a myth.

The evolution of radical islam into a more secular or tempered version must come from within islam not without. No amount of logic or systematic exposition can undo willful suspension of rational thought,this is especially true if it were to be imposed by the west. I think the only realistic solution is for education, socioeconomic stability, emancipation of the female gender and general tolerance to slowly dilute the extremes into more manageable averages. But then again Islam is one of those instituitionalised regimes that would go out with a bang rather than a wimper
