Trump “is sort of to politics what Bernie Madoff was to investment,” according to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. “He is selling something that people don’t fully understand and appreciate what it actually means,” Vilsack said in an interview with NBC News, likening the New York real estate developer to the former stockbroker now serving a 150-year prison sentence.
Hmm, I think we saw this movie before, Hitler, Madoff, Trump, same same. “Hey dummies, come buy this poop, it’s going to be just like chocolate, trust me”.
I don’t think PA was implying the source is important. I think he was just giving credit to the author this particular analogy rather than pretend he said it himself…bravo, ethics
Oh, if I were to author a Trump analogy it revolve around his raging racist maniac Hitler similarities…
Decades of accusations and legal actions against the guy, over and over again, all accusing racism. No it’s not coincidence, be real, the guy is a racist. He bought that beauty contest and kept black women out, he kept blacks off his casino floor, he kept black renters out of his apartments, he is loved by the KKK and refuses to condemn them, and on and on it goes. Dig thru the legal records, or not, I’m sure it’s nothing! An incomplete list: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-racist-examples_us_56d47177e4b03260bf777e83
The 1990s movie “What’s the Deal?”, which Trump silenced, is out and moderately interesting. Rich kid, behavior problems, probably psychopathy + narcissistic personality disorder, angry and constantly losing control, evolved into some low-life corner-cutter screwing over everyone, huge risk taking and so eventual mega-downside tail risk…all summed he ends up underperforming S&P500 and real estate benchmarks.
LOL, a real American icon, “let’s elect this guy to solve our problems!”.
Streaming Republican National Convention, lots of talk about “American Exceptionalism”, and how it “must be maintained”, and “there will be no apologies for our American exceptionalism”, pretty sure that’s exactly what the Nazis said too…
I consider myself a centrist who sees some sense in both liberal and conservative directions, although, since I’m generally in favor of rationality, I have never voted for a Republican. The environment and some social issues are also important factors to me.
I will be voting for Clinton in November. To me, the most essential trait of a president must be wisdom. Trump clearly doesn’t have it, and the stakes are too high.
It’s classic asymmetric risk/reward. Neither candidate can do anything to stop the steady decline in America (no upside), but with Trump there is quite serious risk of accelerating that decline, or a sudden shock down. Downward shocks appear to be permanent damage in many cases, for example the county is still a police state even though W Bush is gone, they are still in debt from the Reagan years. It’s not a video game, you get scars for life when you make the wrong decision.
“What he has laid out is the most dangerous, reckless approach to being president than I think we’ve ever seen,” Clinton said.
Rule of law is probably my most important issue. The very reason the US attracts human and financial capital, but that is in jeopardy. We have gun laws. They’re not enforced. We have immigration laws. They’re not enforced. We have laws defining the capital structure. They’re not enforced. We have private property rights. They’re not respected. We have state’s rights. They are ignored. But, the people are not alarmed. They should get what they want. And Brian William is back on air. Why not put hillary in the white house. They are both truly worldclass.
But, so what? What you do propose? It’s not like these candidates can do anything about it. Trump, he’s the biggest violator of rules in the whole country, he certainly doesn’t give a crap about anything but himself, he brings up problems, but has no solutions. Hilary can’t do anything about these problems, and she is realistic about that with herself and others. These are system-deep problems that are nearly impossible to solve at this point.
