income and losses of a partnership entity flow through to the individual member’s tax returns in many cases. there are exceptions like for corporations and LLCs that choose a different tax treatment. I’m no expert, but that’s what I’ve learned doing some partnerships of my own.
The more I think about it, I think DT can use the tax issue to his advantage. It plays into the ‘rigged system’ narrative and the fact that he took advantage of it is not a negative. It’s what businesses are compelled to do.
In any case, the real culprits will go unnoticed. No one will beat the drum to fire everyone from Congress, even though they should.
