"Joined the forum yesterday! For your own good I wish you never did. I know I wish I never did… We spend so much time worrying about what others are doing, or what questions they are asking. We should be doing what works for us, and answering our own questions as they arise… I killed Level one without ever seeing what one other candidate was doing. I lost my touch and spent too much time on AF for Level II, but now I am focused and I only drop by here when I am very free.

Magicskyfairy or anyone who has already received a mail from this very generous member, I would appreciate a copy of the notes as well. Thanks! djslobo@gmail.com

On porftolio mgmt now, last section. Will be a steady review for next 8 weeks.

Doing my final refresher review now. will be done the end of this month. Will drill thru EOCs for the next month then practice exams the month after.

I just finished my first read-through of the material tonight. Retention has issues, will have to do a lot of concept check work to brush up and discover weak points, then review said weak points, then practice tests with assumed solid understanding, then more review as ‘solid understanding’ is shown to be a pathetic sham of incompetence.

do you guys not review the books you’ve read until the end (or you are done reading the entire curriculum) ?

Starbuk, I’m reviewing constantly. As i’m doing readings for say Ethics, I’m also dong the EOC multiple times. Once I move forward Quants, I do readings, examples, and EOC again multiple times. Then go back and do a 3-4 hour review of last weeks study session. I’m hoping this repetition will prove the key to success.

Hi, MagicSky, or anone else that has already recived the notes, I would really appreciate if you could forward me the notes as well. My email is: kimminjae@gmail.com. Thanks in advance!

me too thanks Magic… jamescox00@gmail.com

i got some notes for those of you who are interested i call them the CFA curriculum

I read about 20% of the Schweser notes now (no time for CFAI curriculum). Fell behind due to busy work schedules. About 8 or so weeks left. Need to speed up a bit - goal is to get through the rest of the Schweser notes in the next 5 weeks and leave 3 weeks for review and practice.

I’ve done over 2,500 Qbank questions, read thru the books once, and taken all the Vol 1 Schweser practice exams. I’m a bit frustrated because my scores are typically barely over the average. I just took the CFAI mock and didn’t do well at all.

Are your Qbank scores pretty similar to the mock? I did around 1000 Qbank and getting around low 70s

Sounds like you’re just blowing through the Qbank questions, getting many wrong, and not bothering to dig deeper. Otherwise I don’t know what to tell you. If you can confidently do 2,500 questions and not doing well on the mock then you’re not really understanding what you’re doing.

Qbank for LII is not that great. Do the CFAI EOC questions over and over again.

I’m a retaker and have covered Quant & FRA thus far. I failed FRA miserably last year and after spending about a month going deeper than I ever wanted to in the material I feel like I can score >70 without a problem. I’m a little more behind that I would like to be, but Equities, FI, Derivatives, PM, and Econ are my bread and butter and should be a relatively short review.

Danny boy, Get off the boards and hit the books… or on June 4th I’ll be celebrating at your BBQ while you sulk and grill my ribeye  Anyways, I’m going through CFA EOC’s… I think they’re great. Seem to be pretty time consuming though.
